E002 5" LCD E-Book Reader Media Player w/ FM Radio + Voice Recorder + TF Slot (2GB Memory)

Pros: Good Very good wiewer, very lightweight, easy to hold, nice appearance, seems to be very well built (white plastic front panel, and a white anodized aluminium back) , it opens lots of text, image and sound file formats, the sound quality of the internal speaker is acceptable, the image quality is very good. The mechanical buttons have a positive tactile feedback (“click”), and are easy to operate even in the dark (I like to read in bed….) after you get used to it. There are many options to customize the screen brightness, the text size, the text color and the background style, so you will have no problems with visual fatigue reading in the dark. The battery life seems to be good, but will take some charge/use cycles until the battery can reach full capacity, so it’s impossible to say the total battery time by now.

Cons: There is NO printed instructions manual in the box. The manual comes inside the device memory, in .doc format (that is NOT opened by the device, so you have to connect it to a PC so you can read it). The manual is VERY BADLY written…. It’s almost useless, and the functions description is nearly impossible to understand. You have to deal with it by trial and error. I have left about four hours dealing with it to find how to rotate the screen, and found it accidentally. The anodized aluminium bottom can be easily scratched, so it’s advisable to protect it with some kind of adhesive material. The bottom it’s a little slippery, at least for my dry hands skin, so it can slip out of your hands suddenly.

Other: It is definitively a REALLY good viewer, and the price is great too. I will order a second unit, because my 69 year old mother likes reading a lot too, and she got amazed with the device.
