Pros: This is a very cool tool to have fror rainy day. When I do not have power, it would work. When power is down, this would be the one that is very usefull. It really works. It burns like a gas lantern though it is not bright. If you are an electrician, you should have it because electricians often work where electricity is not ironically.
Cons: I hope I do not need to use it. It can be too expensive or useless for rare emergency situation that you may not encounter.
Other: I just have this for really rae occasion. But it would be very usefull when I need it.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: it is cheap and build quality is very good. it is blue color and with another tip to use at burner.
Cons: good price but no level indicator on its body. you shoudl estiame the gas left inside. also no flint on it you need a spark source.
Other: go buy an dyou will find a use when time has come. then you will thank DX.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: does its job. Decent build quality and a spare burner tip is included.
Cons: Gas stream is not very constant. It seems to fluctuate when using the iron for a longer time. Also the only soldering tip included is rather large, so it's not a very good soldering iron for small electric components.
Other: A good soldering iron if you have to do some soldering where there is no electricity, but I wouldn't recommend it for daily use.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It works right out of the box. Used as a torch, the flame has just the right size. When used as a soldering iron, it has lots of power, and can actually be run on 30% power.
Cons: No replacement tips are included, but it is easy to make new ones by oneself. Just check the comments section for how to make a $1 DIY tip.
Other: Very useful when working outdoors. When I solder on my bike, it is a hassle to have the cable of my workshop solderin iron around. The gas iron allows me to work much more freely.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: + Reasonable price. + Compact. + Wireless. + Has a torch header and a soldering header.
Cons: - Requires external firestarter - no embedded firestarter. So -1 star for "Ease-of-use". - No child lock - gas can be opened easily. So -1 star for "Build quality". - Only one solder tip included.
Other: Recommend to buy if you need to solder where electricity is not available.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: ++ Ready for use, just add fuel. ++ Has two tips. ++ Easy to understand how to use. ++ Very useful outdoors, you don't need to use an extension cord or a generator. ++ Heats up very fast! ++ Easy to control heat ++ Fits into my toolbox, so I can use it anywhere.
Cons: -- Could come with a self igniting device.. -- You need to have matches or a lighter with you all the time.
Other: If you need to work without electricity BUY it! Don't forget to have a lighter with you all the time.

Pros: - Very useful - Very compact, so I can put it to my toolbox and use it anywhere - Has two tips - You can use it for hot air soldering - Very fast heating, it's great - Easy to understand how to use. - You need only gas and lighter - Easy to control heat by control arm - Ready for use, just add fuel.
Cons: - It hasn't a self igniting device. - You need to take matches or a lighter with you all the time. - Hasn't child lock - gas can be opened easily.
Other: If you need to solder without electricity - buy it!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Don't need an electricity, only a fuel
- Plain construction
- Very fast heating
- Staffed with 2 tips
- Easy to use
- Small size, so you can put anywhere
- You can use it far from electricity
Cons: - No lock for the gas controller
- Comes without self igniting device, so you need lighter to turn it on
- Only one tip for soldering
- Comes without tip "for hot air gun"
Other: If you need to solder away from the electricity, then this is what you need!!!
Buy it, it has good price and overall quality, I think carrying with your iron additional lighter or matches is not a problem.

Pros: I have to do a lot of soldering outside the house. For example working at the car, or doing electric wiring where electric power is not yet connected. In the last years i have used a lot of battery operated soldering irons with power raging from only 4.5W to 60W. The problem is that sometimes the power isn't sufficient to solder heavy gauge wires, or i would run out of batteries. So I have bought this gas powered soldering iron to use it where a normal electric one would fail. Some of the advantages are:
- Rapid heat-up
- Easy to recharge (a can of gas give a lot of uses and it's not as heavy as carrying rechargeable batteries with you)
- Two tips included, one for soldering electric components or wires and another for precision flame / welding (great for cooper pipes soldering)
- Lightweight, compact, no wires, can be used in thigh places.
- Gas flow can be precisely adjusted only with one hand.
Cons: No cons.
Other: - This is one great tool to have around.
- The included tips are of good quality.
- Cordless
- Easy to use and recharge

Pros: It's very simple to use. It's light, the gas lasts long enough.
Cons: The temperature is reaches isn't high enough to make quality soldering. The rosin core doesn't get hot enough. I think this is a serious design flaw as this should be a main feature in this product.
Other: This is definitely not a replacement for a regular electrical soldering iron, but it's handy when you have simple work to do and no electricity, but it is not for serious work.
