ELM327 USB Vehicle OBD-2 Scanner Tool

Pros: Where do I start ... The build quality of this interface cable is excellent and the documentation provided is more than adequate to allow anyone to get started quickly and easily with this kit.
The bundled software is also great for reading sensors and reseting any error codes on your vehicle. I have used this multiple times on my Nissan 350z and have always been able to get the information I needed.

Cons: None

Other: Wether you are just interested in cars or have a business requirement for this item, you wont be disappointed.

Pros: -Awesome Build Quality (metal casing)! -Does not heat!

Cons: -Response (?) speed is kinda low. could be faster -Software that comes with isn't very good. There are other freeware software better that that. -Isn't real ELM327, just a pic18 with FTDI chip. -Isn't even v1.5a.. just v1.2, works with 9800 baud rate only. -After making a connection, you have to unplug and plug again before connecting again.

Pros: Works as advertised in that it allows you to see some of the data your car contains.

Cons: Board inside is designated 1.2 version. The chip itself reports itself as a 1.5a when you send the AT@1 command.
Detected as a clone by some of the software out there.

Other: Worth a purchase as a typical garage would charge you more than it's price for simply plugging in their reader in most cases.

Pros: This thing is brilliant cant find a cheaper OBD scanner, easy to set up as long as your ok with computers, scanned my car as ive had an intermittent fault for a while which gave a MIL light, once i knew what it was problem solved worth every penny, a diagnostic alone would have cost as much as this item. I have found "digimoto" and "obddiag" to be the best programs to use with the interface digimoto especially as you can graph the sensors over time. Build quality is good. Clearing the codes is very easy.

Pros: This product has worked fine for me. The Software included was able to read most information from my VW Fox (I’m live in Brazil) but was not able to clear or change anything, probably by the ECU system (Magneti Marelli), is something different from the VW worldwide standards.

Cons: No cons. Really works.

Other: If you are a enthusiast or really like to learn more about your car, definitively go for it. Buy it!

Pros: Excellent build quality! This unit uses state of the art surface mount technology, in a design that looks well engineered and constructed.
Reads errors (I had none) and some live engine params. Very nice!

Cons: The software is very basic. Software with more functionality is a bit expensive.

Other: I can definately recommend this unit for anyone who has a supported OBD2 equipped car and a desire to read/reset error codes and and more.

Pros: Excellent cheap device compared to the real deal. Is able to read whatever sensors are available on your OBD2 compliant vehicle.

Cons: Won't work with software that checks for a legit ELM, as this is a clone. However basic software that doesn't check is fine.

Other: Perfect for the price, but READ other people experiences, and don't expect it to work perfectly with every type of vehicle.

Pros: It's cheap. All cables are included. It's a nice tool when 'debugging' your car.
Solid metal casing - should be able to handle beeing used in a workshop.
For reading DTC codes and live data this does the job nicely

Cons: It's a clone ELM327 so some programs can't be used.
At first it requires a bit of fiddeling to get it working like installing drivers and getting the right comport.

Other: If you have a car with OBDII if this is a must have. Can save you lots of $'s beeing able to see what the ECU have to tell about you r engine.

Pros: It is simple to use but more powerful than hand hold unit.Price is good.

Cons: It takes a lot of guess work to figure out how to make it works. Only one software included with the CD, EasyOBDII, works. All other software, including the one recommended by the manufacturer, which is scantool_net113win, do not work.

Other: Buy this one if you do not mind the guess work and want to save money.

Pros: For it's price it's the best tool in the market. It looks sturdy. The cables are really long, so you can do diagnostics even sitting in the back seat.

Cons: Sometimes it's difficult to connect to the car in first time.
Connects not to all vehicles.

Other: Till now i havent found better thing for this price. Buy it
