Ethernet Shield with Wiznet W5100 Ethernet Chip / TF Slot

Pros: Affordable WIZnet W5100 chip, supported by the Arduino SDK without any external libraries. Which makes it fairly easy to use.

Cons: Older PCB Design ("Ethernet Shield 05") The pins were bent, but fairly easy to straighten out with a pair of pliers.

Other: It's decent value for money.

Pros: The build quality is very good. I tested the board together with the MEGA 2560 board (also ordered from DX). I tested the example programs from the Arduino 1.0 software. I tested both Ethernet and SD card programs. I did not encounter any problem.

Cons: The connector pins came a bit bend but I could easily bend them back into the right position.

Other: I like this board and use it a lot. I did not find any reason for not buying it.

Pros: Pins under board are long. It is ease usefull. Build quality good. Board have some LEDs, like TX, RX, COLL, FULLD, 100M, Link, PWR Board have reset button.

Cons: None, everything is good.

Other: Good board for research how it works. I make WEB server. Create simple HTML page and place some states from analog ports. I attach to analog ports are temperature, pressure, photo, IR detectors.

Pros: It is exactly like the original Italian shield, and it works out of the box (bubble wrap, actually!) with the standard libraries (I am using Arduino 1.0.1). The uSD card reader and the ethernet port CAN BE used simultaneously, which is a great plus. Every single demo project available in the Arduino IDE works perfectly with this shield. Also, it is 1/3 the price of the original shield.

Cons: None. Absolutely None.

Other: Having lan/wan connectivity on any arduino project really broadens the possibilities of any project. It is a must have for any arduino hobbist or projectist.

Pros: Its price is very cheap when compared to other online stores and works well with the Arduino UNO board (SKU: 120464). Can be tested with the original examples available on the Arduino software 1.0. Also allows other shields to be placed on top of it.

Cons: Nothing to report except some pins were slightly bent but were easily corrected.

Other: Good and practical shield for the arduino boards.

Pros: Impressive Very good quality, come with two plastic protection, perfect pins, all leds, all analog and all digital ports works as well. It's a perfect W100 board. Arrives in 20 days in Campinas/SP/Brazil, it's a record time into now. I need it to control my house using internet, I did a successfully test with this one. Buy, plug, develop your program and be happy.

Cons: No cons. Nothing about functionally or quality, it is a perfect board.

Other: Buy Without fear.

Pros: This is a standard shield for arduino to add a network interface. It's works out of the box, just by adding the Ethernet examples that come with the arduino sdk. The price is also ok.

Cons: None so far. My only problem was the shipping package which did not protect the shield during the transport from China. It arrived with one side completely bent. Not a big deal because it was straightforward to put back.

Other: For the price, build quality, and easy of use it is a no brain to buy

Pros: Price, price, price if you need clasical ethernet shield for compatibility

Cons: Compared to original this one has some missing features. There is no MAC address, you must create random (not recommended) or use MAC of some useless machine from your property. There is missing 3,3 power regulator. This is'nt probably problem if you are using it with arduino. With your own board without 3.3V, LED didn't working (if I understand schematic correctly).

Other: Good for price.

Pros: It is a cheap and easy way to get your arduino conected to internet, works fine with the current available arduino libraries for the ethershield, it arrived twenty days after I placed the order which is a fairly good timing so far. The memory card slot is aplus for the price payed.

Cons: The packing could be better, but anyhow it arrived fine no pins bent. Also the soldering is a bit so so in some palces

Other: Good quality for the price you are paying. Buy it you wont regret it

Pros: excellent quality, all functions are o.k. With my ARDUINO Rev.3 from dx.com fully compatible. Usable with ethernet library from www.arduino.cc For these money can not get anywhere!

Cons: No option involved PoE device, but it is not necessary.

Other: Nice flashing leds when running any application or communication.
