EX00 All-USB PC USB 2.0 Webcam with USB Microphone and USB Speaker (2MPixels)

Pros: This is a stylish looking practicle web cam that comes with speaker and mic. It sits nicely on top of my lcd monitor and has enough adjustments.

Cons: the box that the web cam came in was damaged during transit as it was only packaged in bubble wrap. This didnt affect the web cam.
The VP-EYE interface doesn't open most of the applications. they can be opened from the start menu.
Not easy to find where to change the resolution. There is no capture button on the web cam itself.

Other: If you need a web cam, this one works fine and is very user friendly to setup and install. An inclusion of a capture button would make this web cam the best 1 I have ever seen.

Pros: Cheap and it seems like it's reliable. No driver needed for Ubuntu 8.10, it works "out of the box" with Cheese and Skype.
It is USB 2.0 standardized and the video and sound is transferred through one USB cable, no need for an audio jack plug or cable.

Cons: Maybe it needs the Easycam2 driver/software for some other Ubuntu/Linux distribution.

Other: A steal for it's price. My recommendation for Ubuntu.

Pros: Good looking.Cheap.Use only one usb cable, without any other audio cable.No drivers needed on Windows XP and Mac OSX(Hackintosh)

Cons: I have ordered this camera 4/23/2009 and has received it 5/08/2009. Right after receptions I have connected it to my computer for check how it work.Without installing driver max resolution and frequency of the webcam were 640?480 and 15 frames.After checked camera in current 2-3 days I disconnected it.Approximately 10 days ago I have installed the driver, going in kit with, and has connected the camera.Became possible to choose the 1280x960 px and 30fps.Windows and Skype worked with camera flawlessly .But 3 days ago, when I have turned on the computer, speaker of the camera began to emit the constant snub.Windows can not been able to find "Video capture device".I took a small video that illustrating given fault.Thereby, the camera worked at all not more than 10 days.

Other: It can be a good buying if webcam worked even the year.But breakage after 10 days of the work....
In such event will be better to search for same money second-hand, but brandname webcam.

Pros: It has built-in sound adapter, loudspeaker and mic which you can use if you don't have better speakers/headphones/mic at hand. Sound quality with these is about the same you get with a phone in loudspeaker mode, i.e. if you speak loud enough your speech can be recognized on the other side.
Bought 6, all work fine so far.
Quite handy stand / clip.
The lens is well protected by the removable transparent cover.
Manual focus available, quite simple to use.
Video part works P&P in Windows and Linux with kernels 2.6.27 and up.
Audio part works P&P in Windows and reported to work in Linux with freshest ALSA drivers (I tried with 1yr old ALSA and it didn't work).
With the supplied Windows drivers you get control over image characteristics and face tracking feature.
640x480 video works fine with frame rate up to 30 with enough light available.
Comes with driver CD and software package for Windows which allows you to make snapshots and record video; unlike most Chinese CD's everything actually works and clean from viruses :)
Image quality is about the same as 3 times more expensive cams sold locally and these don't even have built in sound!

Cons: As I already mentioned, the sound part is rather weak so it should be considered as a backup or maybe for use during travelling.
I never got resolution over 640x480 with this. Linux kernel reports that as max resolution available. I don't know what is the hardware resolution but in my software I get only 0.3 megapixels max. I personally wouldn't bother because with this lens/sensor size and lack of autofocus anything over 0.3 mp is more of marketing rather than of image quality. And by the way Skype uses only 320x240 (0.076 megapixels).
Audio part doesn't work with Linux/UNIX OSS 4 drivers.
Sensor is a little offset so when you point the camera right at you in fact it looks a degree offset, but this isn't a real con, just a minor annoyance.
It's relatively expensive comparing to most other cams at DX.
It has no light (LED's).

Other: Decent and tried Web camera with sound, if you don't mind the price (which is anyway much lower than you would pay for a brand name cam locally) - just get it.
