Pros: The device is smaller than it looks on the pictures which makes it easy to hide anywhere. Build quality is actually quite good.
USB powered which makes it easy to replace the AC adapter (you might need it because it comes only with the US plug type).
Output seems crisp and clear, although I'm nothing of an audiophile.

Cons: Only PCM decoding... would be great if it had the possibility to decode DTS and Dolby Digital. But for the price that would be unrealistic.
The small size can make it hard to keep in place after connected as even the smallest of RCA or optical connectors make it move around.

Other: For the price of this item I couldn't recommend it more.

Pros: This device is great, comes in a solid metal casing, does not take much space and uses regular mini usb for power. As such it would be easy to make use of other power supplies when you can't use the adapter as mentioned later.

Cons: I can't see any cons

I use it to extend my TV audio that comes form the tv as spdif to my stereo that only takes analog signals. The audio that comes out sounds great.

Pros: Affordable price. Small, solid, works fine, a no nonsense solution for TV,s who has only a Toslink audio out

When you don,t live in the US or other region with the US mains plug, order the right mains plug adapter for your region.

Pros: good device, works great! If you have an TV (in my case a Toshiba xxWL768G) just with digital audio out and want to hear as well the connected Bluray Player (in my case a Sony BDP-Sx80) without using a mest of cables with your old stereo system it's great.
I connected Blurayplayer to TV by HDMI, TV to Digital Audio Converter by TOSLINK, and Digital Audio Converter to Stereo System by CINCH. Now I hear all music from Bluray or TV (even encrypted Astra HD+-Channels) through my stereo system. Sound works fine, no noises or anything.
Connection is really easy. Just put all three cables in and it works.

Cons: The little bulb which blinks red or blue - depending whether a signal is on the line or not - is a bit bright which worries me. Have to put the device behind my TV.
I have to try if the energy of the TV USB is enough for the converter because that would be a very suitable way of putting the digital audio converter only on if I want to use it.
I had to change the "audio settings" of my tv, because otherwise no signal came through the problem was the "language boosting" which should cover the problem that the advertisments are louder than the movies.

Other: Very useful, that the TOSLINK is protected by a little plastic cap which slides beside when you insert a cable.
Great product. Buy it and try it!

Pros: The build quality is excellent. The converter is rather small and takes very little space. The casing is made from aluminum so there no worries that you might break it. The switch and connectors also appear very sturdy. It is powered via a mini USB connector and I can power it directly from my TV's USB port. An additional power adapter is not needed.

Cons: None.

Pros: Since the Apple TV only has an optical output availible this is the item you should buy. It converts the optical signal to analog output so you can use a Dual RCA Male to Male AV to"play youre muscic on yuor stereo. If you have other IOS devices such as Ipad or Iphone the remote app (gained from the apple store) you can use them as a remote and play your songs. Pros: Can decode SPDIF(TOSLINK) signals coming from a sound card or a PC, a cable is needed for it, it does an amazing job and there is no "Thicks" on the speakers when there is no sound.

Cons: Doesn't have any cable with it and the AC Adaptor creates a lot of white noise on the sound, it's better to have a properly grounded AC Adapter connected to it.

Other: It would be great to have a 5.1 decoder like this by the same manufacturer.

Pros: Used from my Lg-led tv to an non digital receiver. Powered from the tv´s usb and hocked up via tos-link cable. works perfect.The unit itself is quite small and by using short cables installation is easy to hide behind tv.

Cons: Enclosed powersupply is not (directly) compatible worldwide. but since it runs on 5v from Usb this is an minor issue.
