What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Initially purchased this to cool down my aluminum external 3,5" HDD case. Temperature dropped for 8 degrees (C). When I stopped using this casing I simply put this fan atop of my laptop keyboard to cool it down (I use a separate keyboard, so no problem here). Laptop HDD temperature dropped from 54 to 47 degrees. The fan is silent and easy to use: just plug it in to USB and place on whatever you need to cool down. As you can see on the picture, it has four extendable legs and you can actually put it under the notebook.
Cons: Is not free and does not cook me a dinner :)
Other: Great choice for anyone requiring fair and handy cooldown.

Pros: Used this thing to help cooling my 3.5-inch desktop HDDs in an open case. Brought my HDDs temperature from 53 down to 48 degrees C under full load last summer. Not much but it returned them into the threshold of safe temperature. USB.
Cons: I had to tape the cable to the frame because at some point the fan blades started grinding it destroying the insulation and making annoying noise. Not very difficult task.
Other: Cheap fan does its job. The colour is not my favorite though...
