Pros: A nice little simple freezer thermometer for a fantastic price. It has a good clip section at the top so it can be attached to something and hang in the freezer. I thought I would break it when I put it over an larger bar then I thought it could take, but it handled the pressure well and clicked into place nicely. This is evidence of it's build quality (I would have expected some items this cheap would break).

Cons: It -does- have Chinese characters on it, but that doesn't bother me in the slightest. I can sort of imagine this might be a con to some people, but I don't really know why.

Other: Just what I expected (but without any shortcomings I thought it may have). Very happy with item.

Pros: Good-looking and small. Useful for monitoring your refrigerator temperature.

Cons: There is only one method for hanging it inside the refrigerator - on shelf's rods. I have glass shelves and this method doesn't work for me.

    Other: Definitely worth the price

  • ~ A Small& Useful Product ~

posted by ddublu on 20:28:25 G12T 26/12/2007 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Small enough to fit in any freezer & accurate enough to give you a good indication of your freezer's operation. Durable case & recessed thermometer should insure longevity. The clip is plenty flexible, provided that it's room temperature when you fit it to the wire shelf.

Cons: The only one we can think of is that it has no Fahrenheit scale along side of the Centigrade one, but no big deal really.

Other: We suspected that our freezer wasn't working as well as it should, & sure enough, it is only holding about -12 C (10 degrees F)... not cold enough, really. This device has already paid for itself in our opinion. They should make nice little gifts too. Great "bang-for-the-buck"!

Pros: Low price. Good quality Quite accurate. Doesn't suffer from the clutter of archaic °F. The Chinese characters add an exotic touch. Zones marked where the freezer and fridge should operate.

Cons: Slightly small scale for my eyes but a larger unit would perhaps be too bulky.

Other: Could be worth buying a few for a cheap, useful and unusual gift.

  • Small, usefull and cheap as always with DX

posted by xachopin on 15:33:40 G2T 20/02/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Less than 2 USD - It's small - Temperature is in Celsius degrees - Build quality is really great - Thermometer is recessed and protected by a plastic window
    - Small grey line indicating what fridge temperature should be and a grey background at the bottom indicating what freezer temperature should be

Cons: - Only Celsius degrees, no Fahrenheit (not a problem for me since I live in Europe, but could be US citizens)
    - Some Chinese signs on it, but doesn't really matter

Other: It's small, it's cheap and there are 2 indicators telling what fridge and freezer operating temperature should be.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -I live in Europe, so that Celsius degree is nice(I am not used to converting from Fahrenheit). -Very accurate. -Tells you the operating temperatures for fridge and freezer. -Well built, small, and stylish. -Good protective plastics, and good plastics in general.

Cons: -I really do not like those Chinese characters.
-Maybe a little bit too small for some users.

Other: I would recommend this item to non-US buyers. It's small, accurate, well designed.
Worth the money ( Just a saying, it's only two bucks ) .

  • Nice Thermometer!

posted by Alphete on 09:52:11 G3T 18/03/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very Small. Scale is very clear. Comes in Celcius degrees scale. Very unexpensive

Cons: Took a while in figuring out how to hang it.
Should come with a magnet or adhesive band to stick it on the freezer/fridge door.

Other: Very nice toy for the price. Help you see what's the real temperature inside your fridge. I do not have it on my freezer. Just the refrigerator.

  • inexpensive way to assure food safety

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: While this device is not as nifty-cool as others you will find on DealExtreme, it has a straightforward, practical purpose: to make sure the food in your freezer or refrigerator is kept at a safe temperature, without going overboard and keeping it too cold (thus wasting money and energy).

Cons: It's not clear to me that the clip (which was not obvious in its design) will be able to withstand prolonged freezing temperatures without getting brittle and cracking. Also, I'm not sure how accurate the thermometer really is.

Other: Keep your food safe without going overboard on energy costs, all for a couple of bucks. What more could you ask for?
