Full Replacement Housing Case for NDS Lite (White)

Pros: Looks VERY close to the original, white NDS Lite housing. Even comes with a stylus!

Cons: There are NO directions, so if you want to try this one, you should set aside a good amount of time. I strongly suggest you examine some videos online of anyone disassembling a DS Lite, just to get an idea of what's inside.

Other: Ultimately, this is probably as close as you'll get to a replacement; DX sells this (now) for ~$20.00 USD, $6.00 less than what I paid. The two things that stand out about this are that (1) the power switch MAY NOT slide smoothly (so that may be another piece you have to reserve from the original housing) and the left-most hinge of the new housing; it was pretty difficult using the screws that came with it as I presumed they were too long. They hold the hinge in place but mine sort of "lifts up" when opening the DS at times. However, it has not been problematic.

Pros: Looks like the original, very nice!

Cons: No manual, was packaged in just a white nameless box, which sucks. Reselling something in a plain white box won't do the trick.

Other: Good replacement, don't forget the screwdrivers!

Pros: Its cheap, thats all its got going for it. The rear casing that I recieved also had ENGLISH writing as opposed to Japanese, however it was for the US DS, hwich is one of the few pro's I can think of.

Cons: Parts dont fit together well, but buttons ect. do, so its still fairly good for the price. It generally pretty badly made.

Other: Buy it, just so long as you're not replacing the upper screen.

Pros: * Looks close to the original, NDS Lite housing. * Comes with a stylus. * I like the flat white with the gloss finish over the originals white with clear layer.

Cons: * NO stupid INSTRUCTIONS, my advice is watch one of those 10-15 minute videos on taking a DS apart. It's worth it. I couldn't be stuffed watching the video so i just winged it took me like 2 hours coz I was trying to be careful, woulda been better off spending 15 minutes on video then 20-30 taking apart and putting the DS back together.

* Edges aren't perfect, few bits of flash left on the plastic you should trim if you want it nice.

* Dunno about anyone else but mine didnt fit perfectly flush where the inside bottom piece and outer bottom piece join together, theres a very small gap.

* Power switch isn't as smooth to slide. (Not that important I guess.

* Volume button is stiff and hard to slide. This gets very annoying when you'd like to adjust it just slightly as u can imagine.

Other: Probably as good as it gets to an original replacement case.

Looks alright, I'd only advise people to get it if their original is broken or else its not really worth the effort.

Pros: Very close to the real thing. The plastics are of good quality and appear to fit together well. The power/wifi lens are included as well as the lower lcd frame. All switches, buttons and rubber pads are provided.

Cons: The housing is not clear white. It is solid white and the battery cover doesn't fit completely flush with the bottom half.

Other: Decent housing at a good price.

Pros: This is the best built case for a non genuin part i have come accross i have replaced my case a few times dew to my 4yr old dropping it,but this case is almost identical to the original,screws buttons and even a spare screen are also included so for the price you can not go wrong with this.

Cons: It is a fiddly job to replace a nds lite case and some instructions would be useful,although there are plenty on the web to download so not a real issue.

Other: An excellant case,hard to find a better match for original parts,not far from perfect match in my experience.

Pros: Really great replacement case, not far from the original!

Cons: Having to replace the case for the first time!

Other: If replacing for the first time like me, then go slow and find a good step by step guide.

Pros: Only close inspection will reveal that this shell is after-market. The outer parts are dual-injection molded, just like Nintendo. The parts fit together with little or no trimming. The stylus that comes with this kit can be used without scratching your touch screen.

Cons: As with any replacement shell for the DS Lite, replacing it is an ordeal. Be prepared to spend three or more hours working on this. The rubber screw covers and bumpers come separate from their adhesive backing, and I was unable to use the adhesive backing. Some double-sided tape did the job. Also, the shoulder buttons are a bit loose.

Other: If you need to replace your broken case, and want an official color, get one of these. You can even mix and match good parts from your old case with good results.

Pros: Looks very similar - almost perfect, no it is a perfect replacement to the original Very happy with the quality of the case, even has the ds (made in china etc) writing on the bottom and a serial number sticker

Cons: no instructions (didn't expect any) and the ds' are put together very well. Although the replacement units have all buttons etc you will need to keep the 2 pins and springs for the LB & RB. A Con for the actual DS is the way the top screen cable goes through the right hinge - is a little dicy getting it through the replacement, but patience is the key

Other: Very good replacement - all parts available (excluding the little springs) The choise was to replace the case or buy another DS due to the hinge being broken - a very worthwile purchase indeed!
