Full Replacement Housing Case for NDS Lite with Buttons and Screws (Red+Black)

Pros: Based on some other reviews I thought I should offer my opinion.
Build quality looks like official product.
I hesitated based on other reviews but because of the low price I thought I would risk it. Quality is not an issue.
I needed a replacement as part of my original cracked. I was able to mix and match between my old pieces and this new one for a truly custom housing :)
Screw holes were a bit tight but ultimately worked.
No instructions are provided but that's not a concern as documentation is readily available on line:

I'm no expert, took me 3 hours since I did not replace ribbon correctly and had to take it apart a few times :P
Product and price are excellent, with patience you will not be disappointed.

Cons: minor issues, screw holes very tight, instructions would be nice.
neither of these should deter anyone.

Other: you certainly can't go wrong for $20 and no shipping for this product.

Pros: This case (especially the red portion) looks quite nice. The kit came complete with screws and both a top and bottom screen bezel. I was able to mix some of my original (white) parts with this case to customize it. (I like the white buttons on the black lower half)

Cons: The upper case construction is pretty good. Somewhat hard to get the little rubber lid bumpers in place but everything assembled nicely. The lower case however is not the quality of a genuine case. The plastic parts are not double molded (buttons have painted on letters) and the fit of the parts is not good. It took me a few minutes of scraping over molding from the areas around the power switch slot to even get it to slide freely. Also, some of the parts (the screw on hinge portion for one) are actually a jade green plastic that has been spray painted black. Some of which was missed on the mentioned part. There was clear plastic power/charge lens.

Other: +1 Stock part can be used with it.
+1 Upper portion looks great
-1 Cheap painted pieces for some parts
-1 Lower case not a clean mold had left overs that needed cleaned up.
Overall worth the money especially if you have a black DS already and just want the red top.

Pros: The red looks pretty much like my genuine crimson casing.
Came with all the parts you need, top screen lens, bottom bezel, buttons etc.

Cons: Built quality isin't the best. Have worked on fixing a few DS Lites before and there is a difference between original nintendo housings and these housings.
Most obvious part is on the bottom half of the housing, there are some gaps which can't be fully flushed together.
Didn't really like the "gloss" type of buttons.
Power & Volume sliders might need a little filing or sanding to allow a smooth slide. By itself, it was too tight.

Other: Would be a nice change from your plain DS to something fresh. Not too bad for this price, couldn't get them anywhere cheaper.

Pros: Deze kleur is niet verkrijgbaar in Nederland en met de zeer gunstige dollar koers erg leuk om je DS een ander uniek kleurtje te geven. bij de DS housing komen alle schroefjes, knopjes en overige meegeleverd en het is geen ramp als je dus iets kwijt bent geraakt of als er iets kapot is gegaan van je originele housing.

Cons: De housing, schroefjes en knopjes zijn van niet zulke goede kwaliteit. Bij de housing valt dit nog wel mee maar vooral de schroefjes zijn van zeer slechte kwaliteit gemaakt en je kan dus beter de originele schroefjes van je originele DS housing gebruiken. het is erg moeilijk om de housing te veranderen en je moet echt weten wat je doet!

Other: Erg leuk om je DS een ander kleurtje te geven maar weet wat je doet want anders krijg je de housing nooit meer in elkaar!

Pros: The case looks real nice, the soft black with the shining red makes for a very cool combo. The top of the case is a near perfect clone of the original DS casing.

Cons: The bottom half of the DS casing is real bad... Screws don't really fit into it, the windows seem slightly bigger showing some iron of the LCD screens through it (0.1mm).

Other: This case will do if you want a cool looking DS, but if you have a perfectly good DS and just want the same look don't bother. You'll be reducing the quality and feel of your DS. If you've got a broken hinge of some other case related damage and really want this color, have fun.

Pros: This replacement housing looks pretty sharp. I used an instructional video on youtube to take my old DS apart in order to use this housing. It was not too hard. It looks pretty authentic when it is all put together.

Cons: The trigger buttons were not molded perfectly, and it does not have as good a feel as the original housing.
My DS broke at the bezel point, so i bought this case as a replacement. It is very nice, but not as good as the original.

Other: Looks sharp, price is good. It's not perfect, but does the job. Be sure to get the trigram screwdriver and possibly the bezel part that DX has for your replacement/repair.

Pros: Well made solid case all top quality parts, No problems fitting ( I found an instructional video on youtube ). I got plenty of remarks on how good it looked and how well the two tone colour scheme worked.All in All well worth the money.

Cons: I only have two issues with this and that is that a screwdriver and a link to fitting instructions should be included even if there's an additional cost (the screwdrivers are only $2 or less for a set on DX)

Other: Go for it you've nothing to lose

Pros: Nice build quality, the color is exactly the same. Bought this as a replacement for my daughter's broken DS case.

Cons: The case is OK but it's not that simple to replace it, because of the flexbands.

Pros: -Very good case, must buy if yours did broke the hinge, or even if you just want one that is nicer
-Cheap!, here in Brazil, the same ones can be found for like, 40$
-Build quality is good, not as good as the original, but no one will ever notice that after you put it in place.

Cons: -Did not come with instructions, not really a problem because there are tons of how-tos on the internet.
-Does not come with the hinge, but you can order them here on DX too.

Other: For this price, you have nothing to lose.

Pros: If you're bored of the current color of your DS lite, why not change it up with one of these?

Cons: The only con was that I paid $20.98, vs. the current price. I suppose it was worth it then though. The LCD cover is a pain to replace... it doesn't quite snap in 100%.

Other: It's definitely a better deal now than before. If you really, really want a red DS lite, or maybe your current housing is cracked, or maybe you want it to be shiny and scratch free? Either way, I suppose it's worth it.
