G4 1.2W 108-Lumen 3500K 24-SMD LED Car Warm White Light Bulb (DC 12V)

Pros: Has an OK color temperature, although I would not call it "warm" compared to a halogen bulb. Seems well built. Fits into standard G4 socket (down-light) The big number of LEDs make light flow more even than with fewer LEDs

Cons: The bulb has a very annoying flicker when used as a replacement for a G4 halogen bulb. I guess this is because the 12V transformer is not stabilized. But I still managed to buy a LED bulb that does NOT flicker in this setup from my local dealer in Sweden, so this is definitely a problem specific to the bulb bought here at DealExtreme. Good thing I only ordered one!

Other: Buy it only if you have a stabilized 12V transformer

Pros: This G4 replacement LED bulb has an fairly correct colour temperature according to the description. But it is not quite "warm white" compared to a halogen bulb.
It seems eems relatively well built compared to other brands. Fits nicely into standard G4 socket (down-light)
The light flow more is even due to the number of LEDs.

Cons: The major issue is the colour temperature, and that it is not possible to dim.

Other: G4 replacement LED that goes well with other light sources, but is a littel to white alone. I use it for decoration lightning and over the kitchen benchø. I measured 1456 mA at 12V, and that would give 1,74W power consumption. If it gives 1,2W light, there will be 0,54 W in heat.

Pros: I bought several types of those "bulbs" to replace 20W halogen bulbs in the kitchen. I replaced several transformers with one small 12V stabilized adapter from this site and this particular type is the one I decided to use. It has more LEDs close enough, so it seems like one light source, instead the another type, where are the single LED diodes easisly recognozed.

Cons: the soldering on the other side seems not very precise
I'm quite currious how much heat this one generates, and how long will it last with no cooling. Anyway, disposing 2 transformers and a bunch of 20W halogen bulbs seems worth it anyway.
The other type I bought is a bit less bright, is bigger (difficult to place inside the 20W halogen bulb place) and has warmer light.

Other: The other type has wider space between pins and was not that easy insertable in the place of the previous 20W bulb. You had to cut the pins a bit and bend them slightly. This one is just ok to the the same job. So I ordered them to replace all the 20W bubls after testing.
Has enought light to illuminat the kitchen desk (together with one tube). The light is not too warm, it's just ok.
I don't see a reason why you could not dim it with a PWM driver. Easy stuff. Hovewer I don't dim those, I have a dimmable led strip from DX above.

Pros: Bright, daylight colour temperature, halogen replacement. Fills my desk with a nice light that is easy on the eyes. Bought this to replace a similar LED panel that had 9 larger SMD LEDs and consumed 2W. The previous one had 6 of the 9 SMD LEDs burn out in less than a week. Also, suprisingly cheap. I the LEDs start failing, it wouldn't be a catastrophe.

Cons: Too bad there is a marked +/- side: some diodes to avoid switching wires, or even allowing AC 12V, would be far better.

Other: Happy with the purchase and the price. Just hope the SMD LEDs don't start failing one after the other. Time will tell, but you can't fault it at this price.

Pros: + Good warm light - no as warm as I expected, but enough.
+ Good shining

Cons: - Few times I wrenched pin (easy to solder back)
- Getting hot little bit. I placed them on the wood roof of my van and after and hour i can't touch it because it was warm. But if you will use them in a lamp or good ventilated place, it will be ok.

Other: I recommend this item...

Pros: Of all the LED emitters sold by DX, I think these are the best deal for your money. They are easily incorporated into most any circuit or housing, and the bulky connector pin can be removed easily to utilize just the original solder tabs. The unit is labeled with + and - terminals, so there's no guesswork.
The color is not the harsh blue one might expect, but warm white, just as advertized.

Cons: Really no cons, however the current-limiting SMD resistors can get hot, so don't cover them with anything that will block the heat transfer.

Other: These LED arrays are very cost-effective, and would be most useful for cars, RVs, boats, and solar-powered homes. I intend to use 3-6 for each room.

Pros: - Great light
- Warm White
- Low engergy usage
- Low price

Cons: - the 2 pins are not similar to G4 bulbs. I had to bend the pins more inward so the pins are equal to the original bulbs.
- with 1 unit both pins fell of as soon as i touched it. Was easy to fix.

Other: Lots of light for a low price.
Be advised if you have halogen spots 12VAC they will not work!
Only if you make some adjustments and add some components.
Make sure the temperature of the resistors will not get too high.

Pros: Warm white, though it seems tan compared to halogen's yellow... Color rendering seems slightly reduced in a direct comparison.
Low power draw. (measured about 100mA @ 12V)
Construction seems pretty solid.
The emitters are set up as 8 groups of 3 LEDs, with a current-limiting resistor for each group. That means if one LED fails, it will also disable the other 2 in its group, but the remaining 21 LEDs will be unaffected.

Cons: Out of the 5 modules I ordered, one had a cluster of 3 LEDs that are DOA.
The units run hot at 12VDC. After operating for 5 minutes in open air, the PCB and emitters are up to 76°C (170°F). This seems excessive, and makes me wonder about the life span of the design. Even more so if the units are used in a closed fixture.

Other: They're bright, but seem to be overdriven.

Pros: Fairly warm light.
Due to its small size, it fits the reflectors using original G4 halogen bulbs.

Cons: Not as bright as original G4 halogen bulbs.
You always need to leave at least one original halogen bulb in the circuit otherwise the 12V transformer will not operate correctly.

Other: I would definitely recommend this LED light if you do not mind a little decrease of light intensity comparing to halogens. If you do mind, purchase SKU 58298 but be aware this one is a little bigger and will not fit to some reflector-based spot lights.

Pros: Nice color temperature
High brightness and good angle
pcb fits into nearly every lamp

Cons: Pin spacing too narrow (need to bend outwards to fit into my lamps)
cheap build quality (had to solder all pins again)

Other: Good light for a reasonable price, cheap quality included.
Low Ease-of-use rating because of the need for resoldering all the pins after breaking them off while bending them to fit my lamps
