Handwriting Pad 2006 7th Gen Silver Large

Pros: The program that comes with it is good for chinese. It works really well if you are taking any chinese class in college since it speaks the words that you write

Cons: The build quality is cheap and the first one i bought was broken. The buttons dont exactly push too well, but for 8 bucks, its usable.

Other: Good for the price, but it may break if used too often or too hard.

Pros: Great for writing chinese with supplied software. Can use as a mouse. Chinese character recognition is pretty good

Cons: the writing pad is not pressure sensitive and is not as smooth

Other: Cant really go wrong if you want to use it for chinese charactor recognition or signing off documents.

Pros: - very cheap - well-implemented and durable design - an alternative for a mouse - can be used in any application you want! From Internet browsers to games.

Cons: - a rather small drawing area
- picks up only the presing, so it doesn't have censors that recognize how hard the user presses the drawing area
- the buttons are pretty stiff, and don't always register a pressing
- the software that comes with this device is in Chinese, and it can't be changed into English
- the device and software didn't work in Ubuntu 7.10 Linux at all, not even under Wine

Other: It's not a big money, so if you need an alternative for a mouse or are interested in this kind of devices, get it before they run out.

Pros: This handwriting pad is truly amazing. It's not like other products. It can recognize lots of things comes with great software on a mini-cd

Cons: no cons, it works exactly like it should although it doesnt have touch-pressure sensitivity.

Other: If you are thinking about getting an input pad, this one is the best version on dealextreme for sure.

Of course, the price is amazing as well. Much cheaper than any computer store

Other: I don't know if it makes a difference, but the one I got is the 2007 version. It looks exactly the same as the one in the pictures except for 2007 instead of 2006 written on the touch screen.

Pros: -Light -Works -Simple -Nice surface -Easy to install in windows xp
-Comes with everything you need to get started.

Cons: None really. Not that I could find.

Other: Great deal for only $9!

Pros: CHEEP i bought this for my girlfriend as she loves using photo shop and she has wanted a tablet. its a great way to tell if you want to spend $200 on a real graphics tablet.

Cons: the software is NOT easy to install. but some random clicking will get u past all that :)

the buttons are hard to press.

the build quality is questionable.

Other: if u need a small tablet get this one.

Pros: I have spent a bit of time playing with this item. Trying the software that came with it, also trying software from other vendors and different operating systems. It works as designed. When inputing text is accurate at interpreting. Also with practice allows you do freedraw in most applications that allow painting.

Cons: Would be nicer if it had a larger area, initially issues with software, has different software than that described. Had to download more software and then work out the installation.

Other: End of the day, great value for money once you understand all the nuances of the item.

- Apparently works with english software.. trying to get it to work.

-Not very sensitive
- Cheapish
- Can't draw good pictures
- My signature looks mangled

Buy it if you need it for recognizing words, symbols etc. Don't get it for signatures or pictures. They work but not very good.
