What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Pros: Good price Packaging claims 3 ton limit Packaging claims hooks are forged Hooks have safety latches with springs to prevent them falling off securely
Cons: The hooks don't have a load rating stamped on them. I don't know how to judge if the hooks are forged or not. If they are its its very good value. If not, its potentially dangerous if they break under load. The eye loop that the strap is joined to is not very thick.
Other: Looks good value, but be careful

Pros: It is fairly easy to connect to a car. The hooks are small, but I didn't have that much difficulty using them
Cons: It just isn't very strong. My Rav4 got bogged in sand recently, and I finally had the opportunity to test this cable. From the start it wasn't very good. Although the hook was solid, the metal clip, which is meant to keep the hook "hooked" bent very easily. It wasn't required to keep the hook in, but it was a bit of a waste of time. Once the cable was connected, we tried to use it to pull my car. It stretched for a moment, before snapping. We thought it might work better if it was doubled up, so we tried it again, doubled up. Even then, it snapped very easily. The Rav4 didn't even budge. Eventually we went and got a real tow cable, and the Rav4 was extracted almost immediately.
Other: It isn't strong enough to pull a car out of a bog. It might be suitable to pull a car along a highway (if it is out of power). Do not rely on this to get your car out of a sticky situation.

Pros: - Compact - Easy to pack
Cons: - Weak, I think 500 KG max is more like the real weight for this strap. The shear strength may very well be 3500 kg, but towing a 2500 kg car will put more than a 3500 kg load on the rope. - Heck, if you yank a 1000 kg car out of the ditch, even that will put more than 3500 kg of force if the car is really stuck. - Badly made hooks., the flaps that make sure the hooks don't fall of, fell of mine, from just being in a backpack.
Other: - Absolutely useless for cars larger than about 500 kg. - Great for ATV's and Snowmobiles.
