What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: extremely fast and good built quality
Cons: the driver disk was unreadable and I asked for a link but dealextreme tried and failed to send me the driver through mail (anti-virus will stop it and i cant control gmail....)
Other: I do recommend it if yo have or intend to have usb 3 disk because it work just like an internal\local fast disk
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: 1. Plug and play just needing a power supply to it. Uses the old style power plug and not the news ones like the ones used by the SATA drives. 2. 2 to 3 times faster than the usb 2.0 port at max. It all depends on the speed of the source you are copying from as well. Write is fast, but read needs to be fast too in the device you are copying from for the overall speed to be high. I tested with a IDE hard disk to USB 3.0 WD my book copy and I got transfer rates of around 80~100 MB per second. Maybe I would get higher speeds if my hard disk were SATA but its clear that this device is 2-3 times faster than usb 2.0. 3. The CD driver provided with the device worked in my case. Please reply to this thread if you would like for the ISO to be uploaded for your use, alternatively you can use the link provided by the reviewer above.
Cons: 1. Maybe its particular to my case, the device would not fit into my desktop cabinet. The top holder part of this card was a tad too short and that would prevent the card from nesting properly into the PCI-E port. I actually bent the top metal holder part and made it straight so it now sits well into the PCI-E slot but unfortunately now when I try to put in a USB into the port the card actually moves back. I had to use tape to make it sit in its place but no completely effective.
Other: OK, VFM, if you expect 5 giga bytes per second then you are beign unrealistic. Its actually max speed of around 600-700 MB but in practical day to day life you can expect anywhere between 40-100 MB. I will be uploading photos and videos soon.

Pros: - Has four USB 3.0 ports (most others have just two)
- Nice good build quality (no sharp edges, PCB isn't thin)
- VIA VL800 chipset
- Works immediately after installation of drivers
I inserted this 4-port USB 3.0 card into the PCI-E x1 slot on the motherboard of my PC (which has an ASUS M4A77TD motherboard) and upon installing the latest drivers in Windows the card worked immediately.
I have two USB 3.0 external hard drives (a WD My Book Essentials 2TB and generic 80GB 2.5") and both have fast data transfers (like 118GB of files from PC to 2TB external hard drive in an hour), which is great as I work with a lot of large files.
Cons: No cons at all!
Other: If you have an available PCI-E x1 slot on your motherboard, and need an affordable upgrade to USB 3.0 with a decent amount of ports, then get this!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -Significantly faster than my usb 2.0 ports.
-Easy to install. It slided very easy in the slot.
The installation of the software was straightforward. Worked rightaway.
Cons: -There is no power connector delivered with it so be sure to have one when installing this. Luckely I had one in reserve from an old pc. If I hadn't it might have impacted my customer experience and rating.
Other: -if you foresee to use usb 3.0 devices on an existing computer and you have an available PCI-slot, you really should check this device out.
