Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Small, cheap Nokia battery (BL5C) providing great battery life and easy to get a new battery.
Software provided, including serial number.
Great reception, fast.
Can be used as a USB GPS for a computer.
Car charger included. Nice google maps view of tracks, and .gpx export in software. Built in memory for logging tracks without a phone or computer.
Cons: No display. Power button slides a little to easy, risk of accidental power off.
The mini USB is not a standard type, but a 5 pin. Downloading tracks works fine with a 4 pin, but changing settings requires 5 pin.
A little expensive.
Only chinese manual included.
Other: Small, good reception, bluetooth. I like it!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The receiver had very quick lock time. It is able to work with very weak GPS signal, even indoors. No special usb cable is required for configuration or downloading data. I think these 5-pin mini-usb cables are standard with all mp3s,phones etc. now.
Cons: The supplied eZtour software is not the best software I've seen. No other cons.
Note: There is a free app called BT747 (google it) which will allow you to configure the device over bluetooth from your phone (no cable required).
Other: Holux M1000C Top notch piece of kit!
Dealextreme order process was very clear with regular updates on progress. Was able to track package via Dealextreme. Delivery time to Ireland took about 10 daya from order to receiving it.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great little receiver and logger.
Works perfectly with my HTC Touch Viva (Opal).
I also used it to geotag photos (by using the logger).
Battery lasts forever and it's fully compatible with Nokia's BL5C (http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.8442).
Cons: Driver does not work in my Win Vista nor in my Windows 7.
I have tried to solve it with no luck so far.
So you HAVE TO USE WINDOWS XP.
Other: Only problem is about Vista/7 incompatibility.
Otherwise a GREAT product.

Pros: Holux offer GPSs (MTK-based) with excellent time to first fix and this little device is a great example. I use it with my Nokia N800, N810, and N900 for fast and accurate tracking while mountain biking, ski touring, and travelling. The compatible battery format means you can find a spare battery easily or swap it with your Nokia phone (N70) if you have one. In my experience, the MTK chipset far exceeds any SURF III device I've tried. I will never again buy a SURF III based GPS.
Cons: The device is not yet working out of the box under Linux and the BT747 application ( http://www.bt747.org ), but with some recompiling of the Linux kernel it is reported to work ( see http://www.bt747.org/forum/qstarz-bt-q1300-ubuntu-804-hardy-heron ) for steps to compile the offending kernel module ). The price is decent and competitive, but not that cheap compared to other stores. I've found that the Bluetooth range is not that great. Often if I have the GPS in my backpack and my N810 mounted on my mountain bike (distance of about 1m, but the signal must pass through my body), the connection will drop.
Other: A great GPS device.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very well built, works right off the box, ever-lasting battery, good charger, really fast gps signal acquiring, perfect software. But attention: you need to be a little experienced with this kind of equipment, this is not for begginers. It will log a route, up to 200000 waypoints, but its not a tracker.
Cons: Had to update the firmware and the software in order to get it working, but it's no big deal.
Other: if you SEE the utility of this item, you should buy it, you will not find a better deal on the internet. HOLUX support on the web is fine.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This is just the best gps you can buy for this price!!!! It works perfectly nice, it has strong signal, acquires position fast enough and batteries lasts forever!!!
Cons: I had some issues caused by some programs I got at holux website, I had bad times to make it work, holux is bad prepared for this so I recomend using BT 747 software to make it perfect, and EZ TOUR... Lack of a WAYPOINT button...
Other: Buy this if you are looking for, it is the best at DX =]

Pros: I thought I would have to wait a long time to get this because I changed the order afterwards, but it came pretty quick considering(just over a week). The GPS locked on to the satelites within seconds I thought something went wrong it was so quick. When I connected it to my laptop I new it was working, in Google Earth you can use real time to show where you are. The Model I received has 4MB storage for logging, should be more than enough.
Cons: I wanted to use this to geotag photos while connected to my 7D with the WFT-E5A but no luck I haven't been able to connect to it via bluetooth (dongle issue)and it says it's connected via usb but no info is transfered. Should work if it's NMEA 0183 Ver 3.01. Oh well back to the drawing board. It still works using the software that came with it for geotagging.
Other: Excellent GPS, great price and well built. The thing is tiny.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This GPS works very well it even tracks under bridges and around tall buildings. It locks onto satelites quickly. The battery seems to last forever even with the bluetooth connected.I was impressed by the actual size of the unit it fits in a shirt pocket and out of the way. Software is easy to use but not always so accurate. Holux support replied right away when contacted about a connection issue.
Cons: Software had some misses when geotagging pictures using log files, found a way around this using other software or using BT for direct geotagging. Unit could have had a waypoint button.
Other: Well worth the price.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very useful thing to log movements of a person/vehicle/object. Can be used as a external gps antenna with a notebook, tablet pc, phone. Quickly finds and lock on GPS satellites, reception is quite strong, compared to internal antennas in other devices.
Cons: Bundled software is buggy and useless, you have to polish this thing a bit to make it work flawlessly!
Other: Great portable Bluetooth GPS logger, well built and nicely priced.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: + Very accurate for my driving and running purposes. + Easy to pair (code 0000). + Easy to use (really no brainer as it should be). + Battery seems to last, but my experience is limited to one day (arrived yesterday). + Replaceable battery. + USB and Car power cables + packaging (if you care...)
Cons: - manual in Chinese - no straightforward connection with Apple devices (tried only with iPhone 3GS so far). - Build could be stronger: it's just ok. - Size/weight (I know, it's on the specs, but could be lighter and smaller)
Other: A little expensive, but when pairing with your mobile phone or tablet quickly pays off.
