Infrared Instant Body Temperature Thermometer (34~44'C/93.2~111.2'F)

Pros: Very small - fits comfortably in my pants pocket
Fast temperature reading ~1 sec
Reads a perfect 37-37.2C in my tympanic membrane. That's probably accurate, although I don't have a gold standard for comparison.

Cons: Requires 12 seconds between temperature readings - this sounds short, but feels longer than that in practice.
Arrived 3 months after I ordered it.

Other: Great infrared tympanic thermometer, worth the wait for shipping and stock.

Pros: It measures really quickly. Easy to insert and comfortable, so you don't get too much objections from your kid.

Cons: Not very accurate. Each measurement gives a different reading, with 0.5 degree variance. This can be meaningful, so if you get high temperature, better verify with a mercury thermometer. You have to wait like 15 seconds between measurements. And you have to wait because one measurement is not enough. The operation is not intuitive, mainly because of the delay.

Other: Useful but not too countable.
