What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Nice, compact, well designed and looks durable. The reader emulates a keyboard and registers as such on the USB port. The device can read cards from a fair distance (like 6 cm) and does that quick. Audible and visual feedback.
Cons: I expected a serial device considered the 9600bd reference in the text. If you attach the device to the Mac then OSX wants you to press the shift key, and there are no keys on the device. The frequency is very fixed to 125KHz. Many readers have a variation and read cards that are close to that frequency but this one doesn't
Other: If you need a reader for 125KHz cards then this one is a good choice. Very good value for money.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This, with the addition of 125KHz ID cards (for ex. SKU163111) equals the cheapest user authentication system money can buy! You just plug it it a USB port, and it will appear as a generic USB Keyboard. When you scan a card at at a maximum distance of 5cm, the LED (that is usually red), blink green and a short beep is heard (it also beeps when you plug it in your computer/tablet/TV/washing machine/fridge). On the computer it simply "types" the first 10 digits of your ID card, the inserts a "new line" character, or simply "presses" Enter. Thus, it allows you to use it in virtually any software that expects a 10 digit number and an "Enter" key press.
Cons: None, it is extremely easy to use and to make compatible software for it (in basically any programming language you know that support console input).
Other: Need a cheap and elegant ID-card-based authentification solution? This reader + ID cards = solution!
