JD-8808 USB Laser Handheld Barcode Scanner

Pros: Building seems o.k. Thick usb cable.
Trigger to "shoot" the barcode.
Reading distance (regular size barcode): 20 cm.
Fast reading.
No driver needed (perhaps a computer restart after first connection to correct the drivers).
Feels good.
Recognizes various barcodes (EAN, post, etc)

Cons: Didn't work immediately after connecting; had to restart Windows.
Manual in Chines (as mentioned in description), so of no use for none-Chinese.

Other: IF you want to read barcodes and don't want to spend a lot of money and don't care about (Chinese) settings, just buy it.

Pros: Works with Finnish bills (code 128C ?) right out the box. Doesn't require any fiddling/setup to get it to work with Linux (tested with Gentoo and Fedora 15). Reads barcodes fast, and doesn't seem to be too picky about the orientation. Although the device is cheap, the build quality still seems to be OK.

Cons: Manual seems to contain setup codes, but as it's in Chinese, it's completely useless.

Other: It's cheap and does it's job.. What else do you want?

Cons: It doesn't came with a support, so you need to let it over the table. *** Ele não vem com um suporte para deixar, tem de ficar sobre a mesa mesmo.
