Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Small and light, easy to use and carry in the camera bag. It fits very well in hand and it easy to use.
I used it for sky shoots and long exposures on my "old" Canon 350D and it works fine.
Cons: it does its work. maybe the cable can be a little longer. I added a little strap and a velcro to append it when not in use or during long exposure. Pay attention to not accidentally slide the switch to "long exposure" mode!
Other: Nice item! much better then the old mechanical shutter cables!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - very cheep
- has to modes, so you can take a series of pictures without touching it (as you can lock the shutter) nice!
- does look robust
- cables 80cm is very practical (not to short not to long)
- really useful if you go into macro photography or similar things
Cons: none!
Other: Nice product for the price! Does look like it wouldn't brake into pieces to fast!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Good material. Good button Good trigger for long-exposure photos. Long cable Cheap, very cheap
Cons: Not weatherproof!! The plastic that it made looks like a really bad construction, but it works perfectly. The sensibility of the button (2 positions: focus and shoot mode) isn't very appreciable and you may shoot when you like focus.
Other: Good shutter for take photos at night. Sorry for my english
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very cheap price! Build with fair quality. Easy to use. It has lock state for long exposure shots, you press the shutter button fully and lock it for long exposures, very nice!
Cons: The half-way shutter button doesn't feel so good, the half-way stop is barely recognized. A quick adjustment period and it is fine, no worries.
Other: Tested it shortly with my EOD 550d and it is working! That's it purpose, no need to dig too much, it needs to do a simple task :) A good value for the money!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The quality is excellent, the plastic feels very good to the touch and is very ergonomic, the button works perfectly, and lets you focus before shooting. Your button is very convenient for long exposures, it can be blocked without having to be holding. The price is excellent, very economical, other local stores cost up to 4 times or even more than that.
Cons: I find nothing against, just that the manual does not come in Spanish, but not necessary, since their use is very intuitive.
Other: Perfect to be accompanied by a tripod and long exposures. Fun by the pictures without trepidation by the pressure of the shutter button.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Its just like the original Canon remote shutter which is a lot more expensive. I've tried with Canon 500d and 600d. Works perfectly with both. No need for battery is also a benefit.
Cons: No cons I can think of. It does perfectly what it is supposed to do.
Other: If you need an easy cable remote shutter this is what you need to buy.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great gadget for night shots and long exposure, or if you have lens without stabilization.
The shutter button works very nice. The lock shutter option is a plus! When in burst mode, locking the shutter button just takes continuous photos. For long exposure, you must set the camera to bulb mode
Cons: the shippment was terrible. I orderd this 8th january and it just arrived (12 march). The box was in a very bad shape, and the remote was dirty, dusty..
Other: Buy it if you like night shots, or want to take self-portraits without the timer.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - cheap - does the job - thick cable feels like quality. - Jack plug sits good in the camera. - don't think it will break fast - don't need a battery like I did with my other remote shutter so it will always work when in the field. - cable connection so you don't have to hold the shutter button like on a remote ( cable less ) shutter
Cons: - looks like cheap plastic ( but hey it is cheap! ) - It's kinda big compared to cable less remotes but in a bag of photo gear I think you'll have a place for it
Other: Looking for something like this buy it!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very easy to use! Lightweight and quite sturdy. The lock works perfect and allows for some extreme exposure photography!
Cons: This isn't really a concern in my case... but if i'd had to mention one thing I'd say the only "downside" is the lack of control. It's basically one button that can be pressed and/or locked until you release it again. No timers and such.
Other: I've been using it really often for more than a year now and it has never failed or let me down! I recommend this to everyone who's looking for an easy to use shutter remote.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I like the pricing of this product. The remote shutter does what it has to do and it's really easy to use: one button, can't go wrong. I use it for my 400D and it works fine. And compared to a wireless shutter: no battery needed, so you can use it anytime, no surprises.
Cons: the cable is on the short side. This is the only downside that I can think of. Perhaps I should upgrade to a wireless remote shutter next time.
Other: Great price, the product works and is simple to use. If you don't like a short cable, then I would suggest ordering a wireless remote shutter instead.
