    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: This is a neat recorder, with lots of features. You need to download English instructions from www.jxd.cc. My biggest problem: it comes set up with Chinese figures, and switching language to English took many tries. Until you get it set for your language, it will be impossible to use. The manual has no description of the display, which is crammed with info. Very small. Includes rechargeable Li-on battery and charger.

    Cons: Need a detailed manual. If I didn't own several voice recorders (Olympus, Sony, Sanyo) I would not have been able to figure this one out.

    Other: Has a lot of features for the money. You just have to figure out how to make it work.
