Laptop/PC Security Cable Key

Pros: 1/5th of the price of a Kensington lock.

Cons: Doesn't fit too well to my laptop (IBM thinkpad T23)

Other: Very cheap product that is very usable after minor modification.

Pros: Cheap in price and does what it does. Works with my laptop. Comes with 2 keys.

Cons: Don't know if this is a con but when you turn and open it, its the opposite direction as the Kensington I have, so this confuses me.

Other: You cannot find anything cheaper than this and works as good.

Pros: It came with two keys, lock seems to work without any problems.

Cons: Sometimes I find it a bit hard to open the lock, but it might be my personal problem. :)

Other: If you have to leave your laptop to somewhere where it might get stolen this is a way to prevent it!

Pros: Better than nothing, though not much better

Cons: 1/8" vinyl coated cable with crimped-on clamp Pot metal locking head Basic cylindrical key Smells like mothballs Head protrudes too far from the security slot. A thicker, protective rubber washer is needed.

Other: This will probably prevent your office mates from "borrowing" your machine, but a good yank or twisting will probably snap the locking bits right off the head. A small-to-medium cutter will make quick work of the thin cable.

Pros: Coated cable. Two keys.

Cons: It doesn't fit in my laptop Acer. Smells strange. Thin cable.

Other: If you need a kensington lock, buy a Kensington Lock!!!!!!

Pros: Cheap visual theft deterrent. Both keys work well and locking mechanism is smooth.

Cons: Cable could be thicker.

Other: A small price to pay for some added piece of mind. If i had owned one of these earlier it may have prevented my laptop from being stolen

Pros: Cheap, and efective, i use them in market, they look good and they work good, and now all computers can feel safely :D, gooda packege packed in blister, it is nice too

Cons: there are only 4 kind of key`s and build quality in some places are not realy good

Other: good for safety in market and good for reselling ;), i will buy more, you can be safe too, so you need to buy some of them !!!

Pros: The cable serves it's purpose as a visual deterrent as well as providing some degree of security. It's cheap which is a big bonus and I feel much better leaving my laptop where I'm working when I go to the bathroom or to the vending machine.

Cons: Man this thing smells bad!. I left it out for 5 days thinking the smell would go away, but nope. The best way I can describe it is a VERY strong burnt plastic smell. It seems to be coming from the piece of plastic that covers the loop crimp on the end. I cut it off so now hopefully it will go away. If I can't get rid of them smell this thing is not useable. (its so strong it stinks up everything else in my laptop bag).

Other: Be aware of the stink-cable!

Pros: this is a great device for the price.
It works well
The steel cable is covered with a flexible plastic and in the end there is a flexible grey cover to protect it and to avoid scratches in the equipment.

Cons: the key is not so smooth to use, but works fine
It is a kind of short. The total length of the cable is 1.13 meters (44.5 inches)

Other: no surprises at all
If you need this kind of cable and the length is not a problem, it is a good choice
