Laptop PCMCIA 5-in-1 Card Reader (SD/MMC/SM/MS/MS PRO)

Pros: It reads cards only as they are inserted... no need to "safely remove hardware". It uses very little power so it won't drain your laptop battery. I have no need for any other pcmcia cards so this will remain in my laptop without worry.

Cons: This card only reads a couple of types of cards. This card doesn't allow you to push the card in further to eject it - better grow some fingernails.

Other: you can't read enough books to learn how to swim

Pros: O acabamento é muito bom, encaixa bem no slot PCI. Está sempre à mão, não precisando de adaptador, pode quebrar um galho numa emergência.

Cons: - Não é USB 2.0, o que torna muito lento descarregar fotos, ou copiar MP3 para o cartão. Usando o adaptador para USB, que seja 2.0 é bem mais rápido.
- Não é muito fácil tirar o cartão, não tem aquele lance de apertar para ejetar o cartão, tem que tirar na unha, literalmente.. :) Na maioria das vezes eu tiro o adaptador para poder tirar o cartão.

Other: É uma boa compra pelo preço, mas se você tem arquivos grandes pra copiar, ou muitos arquivos, e não é paciente, melhor um adpator USB. Como eu disse, esse pode quebrar um galho porque fica sempre montado no notebook.

Pros: -It came in a cardboard box.
-No drivers are required for Windows installation.

Cons: -Doesn't work with high capacity cards (i.e SDHC) I don't have too many older 1 - 2 GB cards anymore.
-Does not work in my Acura Alpine car stero unit which has a slot for the PC Card slot.

Other: -I can't use this on my laptop because it doesn't have a PCMCIA slot, I originally purchased it for my car which has a PC slot where I can put in a PCMCIA car reader. It's flush with my system but the screen doesn't close when this card is inserted into the PC slot.

Pros: *fits flat with body *thin, you can use it in the top slot and have another card in the bottom slot. *active only when a card is in it.

Cons: * no lip, what I mean by that is that sometimes its hard to get the card out. * you have to eject it from slot to remove the card. * gets kinda hot.

Other: it works good, windows Xp likes it, linux likes it.

Pros: - Price. It's very cheap!
- It reads all the media I need
- Compatible with anything that has a PCMCIA slot! Works fine in Amiga computers - no modification necessary.

Cons: - Build quality is not the best
- Sometimes it's hard to remove the cards from it. It would be great if the cards would protrude a little bit or something.

Other: If you have an old PCMCIA capable machine and you need to transfer files with modern life media, this is what you need.
