While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: It is not so easy to find out such gadget, and here it is cheap. If you don't have other usage for your PC card slot and you use CD cards, such device is good idea.
Cons: It is painful slow. I tried it with Kingston 133x 8 GB CF card (20-25 MB/sec transfer speed). The PC card maximum interface speed is 133 MB/sec. But with this gadget I have only 1 MB/sec transfer speed! It is completely useless for me with that speed.
Other: I regret for buying it. I will try to find out a good external (usb) card reader which can utilize the real speed of my CF card.

Pros: Works in Linux, Win95 and WinXP. Does not require CardBus, so it works on really old laptops. The build quality is good. I didn't notice the plastic case in the photos, so it came as a pleasant surprise.
Cons: Windows 3.1 does not include drivers for it, so they must be transferred separately (if they exist).
Also I didn't have much luck trying to boot an OS from it. Probably, the BIOS must support that option. Mine didn't, but others might.
Seems to be pretty expensive for a simple interface adapter. I don't think there is any signal conversion involved.
Other: Useful if you want to add storage to a win95+ laptop that does not have a USB port or a CardBus interface.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: no drivers needs to work on most laptops. works with win7 , win xp, ubuntu 10.10 / 11.04 easy to plug, no need any additional cords like usb or power to conect with this card reader
Cons: really awfull speed, average 300 kbps. i need about 5 hours to copy photos from Kingston 16GB 133x card.
Other: usefull gaget with one big dissapointment
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Quality conctruction, overall look of brand product. Does the job perfectly. Fits in PCMCIA slot completely, there is nothing on the outside of slot.
Cons: Price could be a little bit lower as it is actually a passive adapter.
Other: Useful thing if you are use CF cards frequently with your notebook and don't want to carry a conventional USB card-reader. Just plug it into a notebook and forget.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Excellent built. Note that these adapters are passive just internal wiring without electronics required. Better than advertised: Comes in plastic case. Fast shipping.
Cons: None. But be aware that older laptops may not recognize very large cards and/or may need extra PCMCIA flash drivers.
Other: Fully fit for purpose and well built. For older laptops (Win 3.1 or dos) you will need extra PCMCIA flash drivers to recognize CF cards, and some brands of CF work better than others. Sandisk is universally recognized. Others may need more work. Linux recognizes most ever card.

Pros: -Cheap -Easy -simple -works Case was in good shape, light packaging. Arrived un-damaged. Label was present and clear.
Cons: No complaints I can think of. Item arrived as described. There are no complaints. Nothing was wrong with it. The device was not faulty, build quality was not substandard. everything went better than expected.
Other: If you are looking to use a CompactFlash card as a PCMCIA drive this will fulfill your needs. Works as advertised, no complaints.
