LED Flashing Stick Rod

Pros: This is a great toy! Multiple modes of colorful flashing leds. Way more fun than a calume light stick! Good for parties or marking your driveway or campsite at night. Comes with batteries installed. Plenty bright and colorful. Cheap! Batteries are replaceable when they do run out!

Cons: Doesn't seem too sturdy. But fine for the money.

Pros: This thing is great fun! It's litted by an array of 5 leds (red, orange, blue, green, red) and has quite a few modes (constant, strobe, flash + 4 pulsating modes!). It's seriously way more interesting than the cyalume stick.

Cons: The only thing I do note like about it is that the plastic it's made of is the kind that's prone to cracking.... So, try not to drop it.

Other: It's a great party toy!

Pros: Nice set of options on lights in terms of colors and flashing options: Solid on, fast flash, slow flash, in order from tip to tail, in order from tail to tip, fast tip to tail, and some sort of hypnotic back-and-forth on the front, with occasional flashes from the rear. Cheap enough to give to kids and replace if they break it. Easily replaceable batteries!

Cons: Maybe a little flimsy? Even then, it's not going to fall apart unless it's abused.

Other: Fun toy for kids, great for calling attention to something at night (e.g. marking your tent, driveway, etc.).

Pros: This 5 LED light stick is a great substitute for a glow stick. It's about the same size as a large stick, and generates more light. Better, it can turned off and the batteries can be replaced for long-term use. The stick draws 48mA with fresh batteries in constant-on mode. A typical LR44 battery has a capacity of 100-150mAh, so you can expect a 2-3 hour battery life. The flashing modes draw less power, but the average is difficult to measure. Even the "solid on" mode requires careful measurement since the control circuit appears to be rapidly pulsing the power to control the average current through the LEDs. I used a Fluke 8026B true RMS meter, confirmed with an analog meter. Other digital meters gave erratic readings.

Cons: The clear plastic tube is molded in two lengthwise halves. It's held together by two small screws at the end, and the battery compartment screw in the middle. The seam is not sealed against immersion, and even rain might leak in. It's easy to disassemble to dry or adjust the battery contacts. All but mode 1 flashes the LEDs rapidly -- good for attracting attention, but annoyingly fast for long-term use. You can see the power-control pulsing in mode 1 only when moving the stick rapidly. LR44 batteries will self-discharge in a year or two, making them a poor choice for long-term storage in an emergency kit.

Other: Very nice glow stick replacement for most uses.

Pros: it flashes differnt colours and paterns. its cheap. fun to spin around in the dark

Other: a great random item to add to your order or stocking filler for christmas. great value for money and if you go to clubs lots this will be great item to have on.

Pros: very good attention getters. I live on a street with odd turn-ins that I will miss sometimes. I use these flashing sticks to guide my guest into the my apartments.

Cons: construction is not the most robust *feeling*, but under normal use, I see no reason for them to break.

Other: if you want to attract someone's attention from a distance, these will work great.

Pros: This is an excellent product for all occasions. I will order more and put it as part of birthday gift to my kids friends. Very bright.

Cons: I got dizzy after starring at it for a while when my kids are swinging them around and around :-)

Other: Buy lots of it

Pros: Works as it should and it has a great selection of flashing patterns.

Cons: Cheap plastic.

Other: These are great gift items.

Pros: The LEDs are hidden behind translucent plastic so it gives a smoother colour gradient. Comes with a nice bit of string to hang it around your neck etc. Some of the flashing modes look really good when you swing it around in the dark!

Cons: Have to cycle through all 7 modes before you can turn it off, like most devices like this. I wish there was an on/off switch and a separate mode selector.
The light isn't perfectly smooth - there are bright spots. And the battery compartment looks a bit ugly.

Other: Excellent for outdoor parties where you have room to swing it around! Great alternative to boring glowsticks.
I guess kids would like it too?
