What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - quite bright with 3 AAA cells - reasonably well focused beam - simple on/off switch - no flashing modes to click through
Cons: - AA battery mode is too dim to use (1/10 as bright as AAA mode) - headband may not be large enough for those with large heads - tilt detent is a little weak
Other: I bought this headlamp to replace a 5 LED version, to get better brightness and focus. For that purpose, it does the job. With 3 AAA cells, it draws about 550mA and is almost as bright as the 2006 version "Ristoft" 1W flashlights (which are the brightest ones that I have).
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Simple and not too heavy. Surprising bright for a 1W light and old tech light.
Cons: AA's are useless. Too dim. Only AAAs are bright enough. Not regulated.
Other: Simple to use and upgradable.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I am impressed. I have three other kinds all with multiple LEDs This appears to use a single Luxeon type. Very bright, wide beam light.Simple switch on and off.
Cons: no cons- a good product at a good price.
Other: I am about to order more right now. Head band is secure and lamp sits in place and angle adjusts well and stays in place.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: The first time I turned it on, I blinded myself it was so bright.
Cons: Build quality is poor, the mechanism that keeps the light in position feels like it's going to break.
Other: Incredibly useful for working on projects where you can't hold a flashlight. (Car's, PC's etc)
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Bright, cheap and uselful(if it was not for the crappy build quality).
Cons: Emitter terribly off centered, the worst build quality I've seen so far from dx, the mechanism that hold it into place is just so poorly done that it will "fall" down and light up your nose if you so much as move at all. all plastic construction.
Other: very bright and would be a good buy if it was useable, but now I have to buy a different one cause this just isnt useable.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: bright lite, rechargable batteries last long time
Cons: none
Other: buy several for work, car, home
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great price! The 1W is very powerful! Even while using two AA batteries.
Cons: Build quality a bit low. That's about it.
Other: For the price, it's a great value! Can be used for a number of applications. Using it as a bike light!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: My daughter has just come home from a 5 day camp. This was by far the brightest headlamp there. Probably the cheapest too! Mounts securely on head
Cons: Can't get it back from her.
Other: Excellent buy.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's bright, and doesn't feel heavy in use. Uses AA batteries, which last reasonably long..
Cons: Poor build quality, easily tips forward if you move your head too fast, so it's not usable for jogging.
Other: I'd buy another one, if only for the reason that it uses AA batteries.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It makes its job. Bright.
Cons: Eats batteries. A bit heavy on a head. Low build quality. Not good contacts, have to clean and lube.
Other: Must have at home and in a car.
