LED Illuminated Cheaters Magnifier with 3 Magnifier Glasses (1.5X/2.5X/3.5X)

Pros: The lenses provide a couple of magnification options for doing close-up work. The LED light is bright enough for the same. It all comes in a box that also serves for storing the lenses when not in use. Lenses are clear and clean.

Cons: I'm a little worried about the way the lenses clip into the frames. I doubt the clip will hold up very long. I will probably select one set of frames and leave it as long as possible. It's also a bit awkward snapping them into place - extremely tight - not so much a snap into place as a simple tight fit.

Other: If you need to do detailed work, these may be just fine. The LED light makes them all the better.

Pros: Light is fairly bright. The module holding the batteries, bulb and lens clip is made of plastic. The frame itself is made of steel and seems to be rather sturdy.

Cons: A number of minor Cons, but with care, they shouldn't be an issue. The lenses are made of plastic and seem to be rather easy to scratch. Like the previous reviewer, I would be concerned about the clip that holds the lens in place, as it is plastic and with rough use, could be easily broken.

The led takes (3) 1193 batteries (included). Accessing the batteries requires removal of (4) tiny screws. Fortunately, a screwdriver is provided, but the screws are easy to fumble and loose. If you open the battery compartment, make sure to not the orientation of the batteries as it is not marked. The slot on the left takes one battery, + side up. The slot on the right holds two batteries, one on top of the other, with the - sides up.

The on/off switch is flaky. pushing the switch to the off position does not turn the LED off. Sometimes you have to jiggle the switch to get it to turn off.

Other: Handy for most home users who have occasionally need extra light and magnification. Can be used on top of eyeglasses.

Pros: Choice of magnification levels come included, which clip into the frame.
Lightweight construction, with simple on off switch.
Can be worn as well as normal glasses.

Cons: That clip for the lenses is definitely going to be the weak point of this construction.
The Battery compartment is not marked be careful when you change the batteries. It would be good if DX put a sticker in them now they know about it.

Other: Good price, reasonable quality useful occasionally.

Cons: 1. Plastic part over the ears was a little loose - but nothing a little glob of glue couldn't fix.

Other: Buy it if you need hands free, binocular magnification!
Can't beat the price!

Pros: These glasses do what they are supposed to. Provide magnification and light for detail work. I like that they came with several lenses so that I could tailor the amount of magnification to what I need. They fit on my head and do the job!

Cons: Build quality is fair, not outstanding, but what do you expect for this price?

Other: Bottom line is that these work. The lenses provide a good variety of magnification and they throw light where I need it. For the price they really can't be beat.

Pros: The 3 lenses for me are perfect. 1.5x is great for soldering simple circuits, the 3.5x is great for surface mount things where exactness is required. LED is very cool. I don't use it alot, but it works.

Cons: A little front heavy, as the lens and light are on the front. I have had it many times fall off my face.

Other: I would buy again. I had to add lead weights the back of my glasses to keep them from falling off.

Pros: 3 lenses with different zoom
Built-in LED light, lighting up whatever you look at.
Can be folded, and become very space-saving.

Cons: Not the greatest built quality, a little bit dangeling and flimsy.

Other: If you solder just a small quantity of SMD/SMT components, i would recommend this product, as it makes the job a hell of alot easier.

Pros: This kind of tool is indispensable for close-up work on electronics, crafts etc. This is a way to gain access to a cheap version of something that would normally be prohibitively expensive. I find the three different lenses to be useful, normally I use the middle power. The light is excellent, putting the light just where it is needed.

Cons: The whole thing is a bit fragile. The build quality could be better. Mine came with a wrongly fixed nose piece so I had to bend the nose piece wires to get it to fit. The field of view is a bit restricted, the lenses could be bigger.

Other: I've just ordered my second one. But, I'd like a better quality version.

Pros: Ideal for electronic repair where the operator needs to have both hands free to operate a soldering iron, tweezers, etc. LED provides good illumination for detailed work. Good clear plastic lenses, easy to change.

Cons: Not very high quality, but you get what you pay for

Other: Electronics repair, assembly, Watch repair, any intricate hobby, well worth the price. How did I ever manage without them?

Pros: * Provide great illumination and magnification while leaving your hands free to work!
* Several magnification lenses available.
* Superbright LED light is great even without lenses.
* Perfect for SMD work and other jobs that need some amplification and/or decent lighting.
* Cheap! Similar glasses purchased locally would cost >$50.

Cons: * The frame itself is fairly flimsy and is easily bent.
* Hinge on the light unit is quite stiff.
* Not particularly comfortable, particularly with lens attached as it's quite heavy.

Other: Even if you only do a small amount of closeup work, these glasses are great and well worth the fairly inexpensive purchase price! The extra light alone makes things much easier, and the magnification can improve things even more! The build quality isn't fantastic but for the price it's quite acceptable. I would definitely recommend them.
