Pros: Very poor quality but good performance with cheap price.
Cons: When I mounted this item to my S2pro(Fujifilm, Nikon F Mount), I couldn't mount because of this adapter's poor quality. So I had to grind its mount. Anyway it's working.
Other: Just cheap price, it's good.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Does what it's supposed to do at a VERY good price.
No need to modify the adapter whatsoever to use with Nikon D40.
Item came in good shape, as described.
Even though the item was backordered, I received the item in three weeks which was more than reasonable.
Cons: "Instruction" Sheet was in Chinese and wasn't very useful
Other than that, none at all! The item was awesome and does what its supposed to do
Other: Great item for it's price, pictures looks awesome!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Finally! i can take macro pictures with my awesome camera/ lenses!
Yippee!
Cons: This thing didn't even come with an English manual.
I had to play with it for a full day to understand how to use it!
...Initially it was EXTREMELY confusing since the stupid manual wasn't in a language I understand!
Other: For this price, I decided it was worth giving it a shot.
In the long run...
BUY IT!

Pros: Works exactly as it should, and allows you to get very close to the subject. Fitted my Nikon D40 without having to get the grinder out! As there is no glass involved, then a cheap set of these isn't going to affect image quality too much.
Cons: The instruction sheet (on tissue paper!), is only in Chinese, but to be honest you don't really need them.
The threads are also easy to cross thread, so care is needed changing the tubes.
Other: At this price, an absolute bargain, and well worth the money.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It basically does what it's supposed to do, and it's fairly cheap.
Cons: The electrical contacts on the lens are not passed through to the camera, and thus there's no communication between lens and camera. This has the following consequences:
- autofocus will not work
-the camera will not be able to read the aperture size; on the D40, the camera won't perform exposure metering; you'll have to do things manually
- if your lens doesn't have an aperture ring at all (aperture is completely controlled by the camera), then you're stuck with the smallest aperture.
Other: It's cheap, and it works mostly. You need to keep in mind the disadvantages though.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's reasonably cheap for what it does, and the build quality feels fairly sturdy.
Cons: Your camera will not communicate with your lens because the adapters comes inbetween the lens and camera. The lens's contacts are not passed through tot the camera.
As a result, the camera won't meter (on the D40 it doesn't) or autofocus. Your aperture will not be controlled by the camera as well, so lenses without aperture ring are stuck with the smallest possible aperture.
Other: A reasonable item for a good price. You'll have to live with some work-arounds.

Pros: Build quality was so bad because i couldn't move extension lens. I tried everything with though tools. From cooling and heating to get them apart. That part really sucked. And macro extension looks like peace of crap now.
Cons: The idea is good and the price is chip. Auto-focus wont work and you will have the same problem with your flesh. But that wasn't the real problem.
Other: I guess i had a bad luck with my macro extension. If the lens would be moving smoothly that would be a nice product.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: This product works if you have the patience to focus manually and there is sufficient light for normal light is lost using this macro lens adapter. If you like macro photography and can not afford a macro lens adapter which supplies the camera with the lens this (or a magnifying lens you can also buy at DX) is very useful.
Cons: It is clear that we must focus manually and close to the object being photographed. But this is about all the macro lens adapters on the market.
Other: It is for macro photography enthusiasts who have a lot of money to invest in more expensive equipment and more efficient. If it is just to take a picture you down because you have to be very Practical to focus manually using the adapter.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It's cheap and interesting. I post some pictures that I take.
Cons: You need a len with apperture ring. If you have commons lens like 18-55, this type of lens didn't have manual control of apperture. They don't work with this adapter. I can't separete the rings of adapter as showed in product page. But I think there is no significant difference. You need to aproximate very near then you have a problems with light.
Other: I post some pictures I take with this adapter. You spend some time to start but the result was very good. You need sun to take pictures and the best apperture was 4 to 8 because prof of deth.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Works amazingly well, for a product that costs $8. Easy to use, provided you know HOW to use it. Allows even the poorest camera owner to experiment with the joy that is macro photography without having to spend hundreds of dollars on expensive dedicated lenses.
Cons: I've had it snag on the mount on my lenses a couple of times and I had to take a few minutes to get it separated without doing any damage. No problems...but there's a little metal bit that can be problematic if you don't line things up perfectly. As it's only a metal tube, my cheaper DSLR doesn't have any sort of light metering available, so it requires some experimentation to get proper lighting for a given photo. You have to either modify a newer lens or have a lens with manual aperture control for this product to work properly.
Other: Get this. Just buy it. It's dirt cheep, and does the job..with hardware you already have.
