What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Heavy solid build and provides enough grip to keep my big dslr+lens fixed.
Very cheap compared with photo store prices
Cons: Fixing screw handle is bit to small so it requires stronger hand to close it fixed.
IT has design flaw. In order to fix the camera properly, the inner part (the metallic round part, where it screws onto tripod, look at the bottom of the unit) has to be able to move 1-2mm inside the black metal shell. But if you have screwed the unit onto the tripod, it is impossible, to behave like that and therefore the camera on top of the unit cannot be fixed properly. You can easily overcome this design flaw if you add big 2mm thick washer. Washer has to match the size of the metallic round inside to provide good steady support.
Other: Faulty but useable.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very stable Holder Bracket for Camera. it can hold my DSLR camera including a lens (Nikon d5100 + 55-200mm) when the screw is tightend enoug the camera stays in place for a long time.
Cons: The fixing screw that locks the ball head is very small and thin. this makes it very easy to break it off. it did not happen so far. (used about 15 times.) you can also change the fixing screw yourself, or make one, with a 3D printer or something like that. for people that are not so strong this is also not a good buy. to secure you're camera on the bracket you have to use a lot of force on the small screw.
Other: Good product, with a small design fault (fixing screw) but useful and good priced.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Great and sturdy all metal construction, en par with much more expensive ball heads. Comes with very precise brake that will allow you to smoothly use it either on monopod or tripod.
Cons: None that I can find of. Maybe it does not have QR plate but i do not mind, the range of motion is great..
Other: I would recommend to a friend. The all metal construction is great, has 0% plastic and is very sturdy, it holds all of my heavy lenses without problems.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Nice metal built. - Price makes it worth. - It works even with my heaviest lens mounted on my heaviest camera (Canon EOS 60D with a Sigma 24-70mm) - about 1.6kg
Cons: - I would not mount a camera with a heavier lens (like a 70-200). - Has a 1/4" screw mount at the bottom (you will need an adapter to mount this in some tripods, etc)
Other: I aways carry this holder with my rig. I would buy it again and I would recommend this to a friend!
