Pros: I looked on multiple website for a media player that could play the lot. I finally decided to buy this going off the specs. The unit is tiny! I can't believe something this small is capable of playing all sorts of files and at 1080p.
I also decided to buy this as it had a separate optical out. Handy if your amp doesn't have HDMI input. It can output to PAL and NTSC, 480p, 720p and 1080p.
The software is quite easy to navigate. It was able to read a 1TB external USB drive. It is also able to switch it on and off through USB.
Supports multiple audio channels, subtitles and can even rotate video.
Cons: Only two cons with this item. The first may or may not be an issue. It is so small that when connected to a HDMI cable, you pretty much have to tape it down as it lifts in the air. I was able to sort it out so personally, I don't care.
Again this may or may not be a con. The USB is on the front of the unit so it's really good to use with removable USB drives but if you're like me, you will keep the external HDD connected permanently and so you have a cable sticking out the front.
Other: This unit is fantastic. I am glad I purchased this and would highly recommend it to anyone who is after a media player. It plays all the weird video files so you won't need to convert between formats.

Pros: This device plays everything I have tested it with. I have a large collection of mostly documentaries, encoded by different people using all kind of codecs. ALL play flawlessly, from Divx3, wma, 1080p mkv, even flv. It is an amazing little box :) Good processor speed is very obvious when fast forwarding or rewinding a 1080p file. Reads all my USB sticks, 1TB and 500gb external drives no problem. Another not so obvious pro is its small shipping size, to a customs officer it looks like just another "screen free" 7$ mp3 player, so it is highly unlikely that you will pay any taxes on it :) Mine arrived very fast, just 5 days to Europe. You can also use double sided tape to stick it on the bottom of the TV, will hardly be visible :)
Cons: The main con is that the unit is advertised having a optical audio output. Unfortunately, this is only an "option" meaning, no optical output with this version of the player. You can get digital audio out via HDMI, or analog audio out when connected to composite, but no analog out when connected to HDMi. This might not be an issue to users who connect it to a tv, but if you use some sort of home cinema system, it might be a drawback. Too bad since the player can easily reproduce DTS, AC3 FLAC etc... Another thing I noticed is that the colour and contrast settings are a bit "pumped up", and there is no option to set it up in the player. Most people will not notice it, since they use their TV with contrast maxed anyway... but hey, we are talking about a 40$ player :)
Other: Definitely worth the money. Its even a bargain. And if there is a firmware update that resolves the small issues, this will be the absolute best buy player in the sub50$ class.

Pros: It very portable,light-weight and so easy to use!!!
Have used my external usb- HDD that is powered by USB, it worked flawlessly!!!
Usb stick....no problems, also SD-card are easy for this little Giant. Subtitles are shown automaticaly and they are even changable in size, colour and also with files with more than 1 language...easy picking of language of choice!!
It can play almost all files...at least the ones I "fed" it!! Image is clear sound is good. Menu interface speaks for itself.......so even people with little knowledge of electronics can use it!!
Cons: As said in previous reviews, the remote needs to be pointed towards the player correctly and not too far away!!
Also when connected to TV via HDMI, sound cannot be connected to a receiver or surround-set!!! So you hear sound only through your TV-speakers.
Other: For this amount you sure get more than you've bargained for!! It's great value for your money!!
It will save you a lot of empty dvd's and a lot of time!!!
It is easy to take along and use it at a friends house or on hollidays...
I would recommend it to everyone!!!

Pros: Small and compact. Easy to use, supports alot of different files.
Cons: It tends to get a bit warm after a while, and the controller did only work at 3 meters max.
USB entrance could perhaps have been placed at side/back instead of the front. Things in the usb port could block the IR.
Other: It is very cheap compared to other similar products. If you always wanted a media player, then you won't regret buying this one.

Pros: * It's light, portable, and resistant. * Plays everything very fast. * You can adjust subtitles size, color, and position, and even change its encoding. * Handles multiple audio channels and attached mkv subtitles. * It stores where you interrupeted a movie, so you can go back at it later. * Got a nice remote that makes things easier.
Cons: * You gotta be fairly close and straight aligned with the player for the remote to work alright. * The remote and its buttons could be a little larger (but that's a personal preference).
Other: BUY IT! I did and I'm more than satisfied.

Pros: I'm not even comparing to devices like Blu-Ray or DVD, because this is so much better. Just to mention a few pros: - Small and Light - Amazing Quality (it's really 1080p) - The price is unbelievably cheap - Plays files in several extensions, including my favorite: .mkv
Cons: - Not very good quality of remote control, sometimes can be a struggle to make it work - No buttons in the player, so take good care of the remote.
Other: What you still rent DVDs? Blu-Ray Discs? Sell this crap while people still are willing to pay... won't take long for them to put next to the VCR Recorders.

Pros: Plays everything that I upload to my pendrive MKV, MP4, AVI, MPEG including in-file subtitles and audio channels. Works perfect with external spanish subtiles (SRT files) with special characters like ñ, é, ú, í. Works perfect on both a modern flat screen using HDMI and an old TV using the RCA output. Lots of Mode Options like NTCS/PAL/480p/720p/1080p.
Cons: The remote looks like a toy, and you have to be fairly close in order to work. No buttons on the device, so it will be unusuable if you loose or break your remote, not sure how it will work with a universal remote.
Other: I will recomended without hesitation! It goes for 1/3 of other devices offering the same stuff and have the perfect size to take it with you anywhere you like.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Initially works really well. Plays virtually all media formats, both video and audio. My Blu-Ray/DTS downloads play perfectly.
Cons: Only worked for approx 8 weeks. Now nothing. The remote control turns it off and on but nothing comes up on my TV anymore via HDMI
Other: You pay for what you get. You may be better getting a quality unit from a major retailer.
