    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: - fairly compact - can be used without LED highlight in daytime - scale marks seem accurate enough

    Cons: - build & finish isn't most refined, but it ain't falling apart

    Other: If you see an occasional need for microscope, this one would fulfill it.

    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Bright light, magnification is low enough that things are visible under natural light (so batteries are not strictly required).

    Cons: Batteries (AA) not included, hinged part detached ~3rd time I opened it (but was easy to put back).

    Other: Purchased as a present, but I'm starting to think of things I could use it for....
