    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Charges my Samsung X495 phone just fine when plugged in via USB type-A to type-mini-B cable. That's about all it's good for :)

    Cons: It would've been nice if it also included data transfer functionality, but charging was the major reason for my purchase. (It doesn't claim to support this feature in the description though, so it isn't much of a con.)

    Other: If you have a Samsung phone from a few years ago, it'll probably work. I have a few other Samsung phones of the same vintage and these work with them too, but I just don't have the model information available (I think one's T209?) -- it should work with a bunch of them. So, if it's useful to you, go forth and buy :)
