What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Pros: - Direct replacement for the (20w) halogen bulbs - Very usable for spots - only a few dollars more than halogens in qty.
Cons: The cold white light may be a con for some if they're used to the softer white of halogens not dimmable, never claimed to be, but in case you're wondering.
Other: So far so good, they've been running for approx 2 months so far for about 4-6 hours per day (winter time). Let's see if they last longer than the halogens, hopefully there's enough heat dissipation.

Pros: Originally bought this bulb to test out in some outdoor lighting. We tested it in the outdoor lights, and were happy with it. Replaced a halogen bulb in a reading lamp, and it works very well. Very bright.
Cons: Not as bright as the outdoor bulb. mr16 base (this is a con if you don't have a fixture with an mr16 base)
Other: Buy it if you have fixtures that use 12v mr16 bulbs, and you require spotlighting.

Pros: Very cheap compared to the $30 or so brand name versions of such lights. Produces a lot of light for something only consuming 3w. Build quality was fairly good.
Cons: This light produces a VERY VERY cool light. Not really pleasant at all. Compared to the 50W holegen it replaces, it's completely different. The pins for connecting to the light socket where not spaced out far enough so I had to bend them outward to fit. The light flickers. Don't know why. I was NOT using a dimmer. It gave me a headache.
Other: As far as I'm concerned, this light is useless.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: These seem to be reliable, which is the big problem with such lights in my experience. I bought one nearly a year ago just to see if it would last, and it did, so I bought another 7 six months ago to replace the others in my hall/stairwell. The new ones matched the first in light output and colour, and all have been fine ever since. The decent heat-sinking arrangement (fins), plus the fact that the heat is generated at three points rather than one, probably help here.
Cons: None I can think of.
Other: A good product.
