MR16 4-LED 360-Lumen 3500K Warm White Light Bulb (12V)

Pros: The color temperature is almost identical to the halogen. Almost no heat. Installed for 1 week and still going.

Cons: Not as bright as the 50W halogen. Beware the diameter is identical to the standard halogen but the depth is a little longer. If your housing clipped on the body of the light you will have to straighten the clip a little to hold the light in place.

Other: this light very similar to sku.30208 only if the price is the same.

Pros: Same warm white color as 20W halogen, uses 1/4 the power, doesn't get as hot, great price.

Cons: Sticks out about 1/3 inch more than the halogen bulb it replaces. In the mini-hoods on my track lights, this is slightly less attractive.

Other: This is a no-brainer, can't lose deal. Swap out all your 20W MR-16s with this model. Same color, same light, less heat, 1/4 the power usage. Your power meter will thank you.

Pros: Dimmable by voltage control. Full light power at 9 V d.c. and above, light power decreases more or less linearily with voltage drop below 9 V. Dimming works also with a.c. (wall dimmer + transformator).
Light power equivalent to 20 W - 35 W halogen bulb.
No shutter effect of driver at 12 V a.c.

Cons: Slightly blueish center, but maybe the best color you can get at the time for this price.

Other: At the time most probably the best buy to replace 20 - 35 W halogen spots, unless even slight blue color is a problem.

Pros: 4 leds in a MR16.
Built in bridge rectifier so will work on AC or DC, is imposable to connect backwards.
Surprisely warm.
Good reflector and lenses.

Cons: Bought 15 of these, all use 3.5W to 3.6W. Pushed the voltage to 15v, in case leds were not full on. Nup, the driver was working and limiting to 3.6W. Takeing into account the bridge rectifier and driver efficency I'd expect the leds are only seeing 3.3W at most. The leds are mounted on a fairly thick alloy disk, which then sits on a very very thin ridge on the shell. The tolarance between the disk and the shell is rubbish. The shell does get warm showing heat is conducting But the disk gets very hot.

Other: Maybe i'm pedantic, but thermal transfer should have been better.

Pros: Segun abres la caja y observas el disipador de aluminio la sensacion que obtienes es de robusted. Muy buena primera impresion. Una vez que quitas el halogeno antiguo y pones este lo primero que notaras es una tremenda disminucion de la temperatura de funcionamiento. Despues de horas encendido esta un poco templado y se puede tocar perfectamente sin abrasarte las manos. El angulo de apertura es tanto o mas grande que los halogenos incandescentes. A pesar de que la intensidad de luz es un poco menor, queda sobradamente compensado por el hecho de que el consumo es ridiculo: 4w frente a los mas de 50w de un halogeno incandescente

Cons: La luz proporcionada tiene un ligero tono mas amarillento que los halogenos de cincuenta watios. y la intensidad es ligeramente menor. Mas o menos equivale a un halogeno de entre 30 o 40 watios.

Other: Articulo recomendable al cien por cien. Una vez realizado el pago, me llego a casa en menos de diez dias (compre 10). En un local donde se usen de manera habitual halogenos merece la pena, ya que en menos de dos meses ya tienes amortizado el poco dinero que cuestan.

Pros: - Color temperature quite good. Not bluish cold, but rather daylight white.
- Cold to the touch even when lit for hours.
- Spot width comparable with a 35W halogen.
- Nice back spill.
- Good power-saver.

Cons: Build quality leaves something to be desired. The glue used for keeping the driver in it's place let go when I placed the bulb in it's socket. Luckily this is easily fixed by a hot glue gun.

Other: if you're thinking about replacing 35 watt halogens and don't mind the slight color difference than this is a good candidate.

Pros: Good light flood and temperature (°K). -- Buona la diffusione della luce e lea temperatura (gradi Kelvin).

Cons: It may be cheaper. It can substitute just a good 20W halogen. Good for IKEA outlets. -- Potrebbe costare un po' di meno. Può sostituire una buona alogena da 20 W, non di più. Ottima sostituta delle alogene di IKEA.

Other: Take it and change all you old bulbs. -- Compratela e sostituite tutte le vecchie lampadine.

Pros: I purchased three with a view to evaluating them for a kitchen renovation. I was impressed with the overall lighting. Colour is pleasant, nice even throw and reasonable output. Power draw was around 4 watt.
Constant light output between 8 - 14.4 volts (I didn't push any higher).

Cons: I have plenty of electronics experience but haven't used LED's for lighting applications before. I was really surprised at how hot these run. After 30 minutes it is unpleasant to touch them. Given that LED life drops off rapidly with increasing temp I have real concerns about the effective life of these.
The LED carrier doesn't have much contact with the outer fins so I imagine that the LEDs themselves are running very hot.
The user photo's show an electrolytic capacitor in use. I'm pretty sure that will not last forever in a high temp environment either.
I think the fins open into the LED chamber. In otherwords I don't think it's sealed. A real pain if it fills up with insects.
At 10 dollars they feel like full price. That's ok if they last the life of my kitchen but I suspect not.

Other: If you have existing 12 volt halogens these might be worth a try. Less power and comparable output characteristics.

Pros: I am use to build myself such device, with constant current drivers, separate led device, with radiator. FOR THE PRICE this is unbeatable for me.... Replacing MR16 bulb with that in some underwater lamp is just great !! Color is ok, light is ok. Again at that price...

Cons: Building quality, i have bought 3, have to reassemble two which just disassemble during delivery, still working anyway, it was just tighten again pieces. They are a bit longer than MR16, this might be a problem for too tight mounting. need a good air flow for warm to go out.

Other: open alloy is indeed a flaw for tiny bugs going inside (as said in a previous review). They will not live long, opening it is simple for cleaning.

Pros: I used them to replace 20W MR16 halogen lamps and they works just fine, with good color temperature and luminosity. The temperature of the lamps remains in the safe area, at least with the fixtures I mounted them in. Absorbed power is about 4W, as advertised. While testing I discovered they can be dimmed: read more in "Other Thoughts".

Cons: Nothing is known about the reliability of the product: only time will say ...

Other: I'm going to buy more of them, to better test the variable luminosity range between 5.5V and 8.2V I need to build a self-made power supply
