MR16 5W 3800K 450LM 5-LED Warm White Light Bulb (12V)

Pros: I bought just one for trial purposes. Even though it is bigger than the traditional halogen bulb it was not a problem to fit it in its hole. The light is a little clearer, but we like it and will buy some more if in a month's period there arise no problems with it.

Cons: By now, none.

Other: If it lasts long enough, excellent option for saving energy at home.

Cons: Not indicated if is 12 Vdc or 12 Vac. The bulb flashing a little bit if you connect to Vac

Other: excellent option for saving energy at home.

Pros: These are a direct and easy replacement for halogens. They fit the standard downlight fitting, although they have a larger body behind the front lens, which may be problematic if you have limited space above/behind the downlight fitting.

Cons: Although technically a warm light, in reality the light is quite noticeably cold/blue when compared side by side with a standard halogen. The angle of the beam is quite narrow and directional (about 20 degrees), giving you narrow pools of light if your downlights are spaced more than a metre or so apart. They are also not quite as powerful as 50W halogens.

Other: At 1/10 of the power consumption of halogens, they are a real energy saver and should pay for themselves in roughly 1 year if used 4 hours a day. At this use, they should last 4-8 years. A no-brainer at this stage, although I expect LED lighting to advance rapidly in the next few years.

Pros: I bought two for trial purposes. Excellent option to save energy. Very bright and clear light.

Cons: - The angle of the light is very narrow. - It's very big, I tried to put in 4 different places and it's so big that I can't. At the end I put it in another one but not fit fully.

Other: I need to probe another powerful led bulb before change the typical halogen bulbs, for decorative use will be fine. Excellent option for saving energy at home

Pros: The lamps provide a good amount of light, much more than the 3 Watt leds. They are comparable to 20 Watt + halogen bulbs also their color is nice and warm.

Cons: I use a stabalized 12volt DC power supply. I ordered 3 bulbs, one out of three does not flicker. When warming up the flickering gets less. It is not easy to change the regulator in the assembly.

Other: The bulbs give a good bundle of light, a bit narrow overall good.
The quality of the power regulator in the unit appears not to be very good. The flickering fades after a while but is very annoying.

Pros: I have oderdered just only one for test. I try to exchange low voltage hallogen bulb (20W). Since its not stated, whether its DC or AC operated, I made a check of DC input voltage versus input power:
10VDC @ 3,6W | 12VDC @ 6Watt | 15VDC @ 7,35W | 20VDC @ 6,68W
My conclusion: There is a power supply inside, so now I operate it with AC also. The light is very bright (brighter than 20W hallogen low voltage bulb) with up to now, best warm white I have seen.

DX should show more technical parameter of products to make decision easier.

Pros: Colour temperature is a nice mid warm colour, not too orange, not too blue. It looks very close to a regular incandescent bulb. Light output looks closer to a 50W halogen than a 20W halogen - I had 50W halogens in the next socket & difference was very small. No flickering seen. They working fine, some on a regulated DC supply and others on iron core transformer from halogens. Good heatsink. Fit in sockets fine.

Cons: I bought qty 10 units in a batch and 1 unit had a bad soldering joint inside, so only 2/5 leds working in that one unit. It should be easily fixed with a little soldering. The other 9 units are working fine.
Metal ring on front is a bit loose.

Other: I've tried quite a few different LED lights for MR16 sockets & these are the best I've seen yet in light output. They are great LED lights & I recommend them!

Pros: Good lamp, price reasonable.
Equivalent to a 15-20 W halogen bulb
Very good light colour (see other thoughts)
Good working temperature.

Cons: Quite taller than standard bulbs. You will need 2 in. more room to install it.
Light bluish in the middle and yellowish in an outher ring (see other thoughts). One of the pieces had the connector floating (a bit of super glue fixed the problem).

Other: Good for spot light as sent.
Very good light when lens removed. Good price/quality rating.

Pros: the quality of the lamp is very good, very good finish and design, the form and the disipacion of the material. They have been replaced the old you halogenas 50w for these, they do slightly less light, since the led does not expand the light in the same way that halogena, but the contrast is not large.

Cons: Some of the dichroic led, to remove them after carry on an hour or so, the two connectors get inward, but they can get easily with the hand, never cease to function, only put inward thats all, but for all the others great, a great saving of consumption.

Other: Great!

Pros: Great light for an LED and a near equivalent to a halogen

Cons: - Larger heatsink than the 3W/4W equivalents so you need vertical room - Additional cost - Would be perfect product if it had a 45/60 degree beam option

Other: Really good halogen replacement if you have the roofspace in your fittings.
