    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: I have bought several MR16 light bulbs in the past and was never really happy about the amount of light produced by them. This one gives a fair amount of light, I'd compare it to a 35W halogen bulb, maybe a little less but not far from it. Also the color is very similair to halogen and the beam is fairly wide but not as wide as the halogen counterpart. I have setup a regulated power supply to see how it performs and this lamp will work from 6 to 12 Volts without any change in light output! The current stays around 0.3 Amp.

    Cons: It gets fairly hot when used for longer periods of time but not by far as hot as a halogen bulb. I don't think it is going to be a problem because there's heat vents in the housing of the bulb.

    Other: Great bulb if you need a good replacement from power hungry halogen lamps.
