MXDL 5W Lumileds CR123A 6V Flashlight

Pros: Great Flashlight. Originally got it to modify into laser, but it is a great flashlight! It is bright even in daylight.

Cons: None at all.

Other: Great flashlight for any purpose, waterproof too!

Pros: Solid Metal Body, great build, super bright. Feels great in the hand, very sturdy.

Cons: None

Other: Good Light.. Great as is, or makes a great laser housing.

Pros: Seems built properly, everything fits well, no rattling batteries or any such problems. It's quite bright too, and the emitter looks like a true lumileds luxeon.

Cons: Current 'regulation' consists only of a 2.4 ohm resistor, which wastes a lot of power and causes the light to dim on tired batteries. A simple switched driver would be a great improvement. The LED is slightly off-center, causing a bit of a strange pattern at certain focus settings. Focussed tight, it works okay. Also, there is little thermal connection between led and body - don't know if that causes problems on actual use though.

Other: You won't regret buying this.

Pros: A nice, matt black, lightweight (without batteries) torch that performs well, due to the high power star (Luxeon) emitter. Quite a rugged appearance, but this might not be true in performance. i.e. if you keep dropping it! But it does look the part at least. It's got a nice 'click' to it, which is always a good thing ;-)

I used mine to make a blu-ray laser, as there is a good amount of space for a custom driver circuit. Depending on the diode, you may even be able to use the stock circuit, but check the mA's first!!!!

Cons: The CR123A's are not as common as say, AA or AAA's here in the UK, and hence more expensive to run in the long term. However, that's not too much of a problem if you can find a good source of batts.

Other: All in all, a good performer, ideal to use a torch, but good enough to retrofit a laser or something to later!

Pros: Very good build quality, good price, very bright.

Cons: A little off-center, but no problems with that.

Other: Everyone should have one of these.

Pros: Nice quality! Fit and finish is excellent. Very bright. Nice white color beam.

Cons: Batteries not included.
LED alignment is a bit off but not so as to impact it's usefulness.

Other: For the money, it's hard to beat. No regrets here.. I'll probably buy more of these.

Pros: This is a very good quality light, its made of solid metel and has a nice feel to it. I bought this to modify it with the q5 led to make it about twice as bright and it seems that it will be easy to do so.

Cons: The little metel end on the click switch wobbles quite a bit but once it is screwed on it works fine, also it smells sorta burnt on the inside of it but it doesnt effect anything.

Other: This is a great little flaslight that is already very bright but once you mod it with a q5 and a new circuit it will be almost twice as bright as it is now.. very good flaslight very pleased.

Pros: awesome Flashlight, i modded it as on the guide on lpf to make a burning laser, very bright too(before i modded it) nice build easily "takeapartable" nice threading

Pros: EXTRMELY bright, compares to my american made $60 flashlight (in brightness) I bought this to mod into a burning laser, there is a tutorial on how to do this on lpf. There is also another mod to make it even brighter, how-to found on lpf. lots of space for modding on the inside, glass window. sturdy button. nice, weighty feel to it

Cons: not much, im just being REAL nitpicky, as any reviewer should be.

smelss "Burnt" on inside, small amounts of grease on threads.

Other: stop reading, this is truly a good buy!!

Pros: This flashlight has a very nice feel and look to it, and I consider it an ideal size. It's neither too large nor too small. The look is professional, and it has a good-sized clicky at the rear.

Cons: There were some artifacts in the light beam (as in holes) that were corrected by maneuvering the reflector around a bit - a bit of a disappointment. There's no "handle" and the clicky juts out, making it impossible to stand the flashlight on its tail end.

Other: Not bad, really, not bad at all. However, I would recommend spending a few extra bucks for the SKU: 1446. That's my favorite overall from DX. All that said... where could you get a comparable light for less? Nowhere.
