Pros: I was surprised how small this charger is. The LCD is clear and easy to read. I use it to charge AND discharge Lead Acid, NIMH and LI-PO. There's a couple of custom adjustments like charging time, current, capacity etc. The temperature sensor works but the plug is a bit flimsy. It accurately balances my big lipo packs of 4000mah and up... I just love to being able to charge at 2A and higher. Incl. many connectors for various applications. When charging or discharging, it also calculates the battery capacity. It censes the input voltage and low input voltage cutout can be set. High temp. cutout can also be set.
Cons: It could be easier to operate, but after a few minutes I bacame familiar with the menu. The beeper when pressing the keys were distorting, but could be disabled in the menu. The buttons are a bit hard to press and have a loose feel + they are really noisy when pressed.
Other: This is very good value for money. It's small, doesn't use a noisy cooling fan and does the job accurately. Recommended!

Pros: Got this a few days back and was used to revive my Sealed Lead Acid batteries which the voltage level had dropped below 10V due to irregular and uncontrolled charging.
So far I have managed to revive 3 out of 5 of the batteries and am very pleased.
Also used the charger to charge NiMH AA and AAA batteries and it charges the batteries full.
The great thing about the charger is that you get to see how much current is being pumped into the battery as well the discharging function allows you to cycle charrge and discharge the batteries to condition them.
The conditioning cycle works for all types of the supported NiCD, NiMH, LiPo, Li-Ion, Lead Acid Sealed and Normal batteries.
Most of the required cables come with the charger whhich includes a built-in LiPo balancer and all these are housed in a nice aluminium case.
Cons: Takes a long time to ship, perhaps its not stocked by DX but on a special order when required.
Other: I am ordering another unit after making this review.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Nice small charger.
All settings adjustable.
All battery types supported.
Charging energy logged.
Discharging/cycling circuit.
User manual included.
Cheap.
Cons: Loose soldering in crocodile clip.
Short in temperature sensor soldering.
Power transistors not cooled properly.
Information about pinout for 12V and temperature/"USB" missing.
Other: Now it is fun to charge batteries again!

Pros: The first unit was so useful that I decided to get a second unit which arrived just yesterday and today my buddy took it off me when he knew that I bought a second unit. Now I am going to place an order for the third unit after I have made this post.
Cons: Its an exact copy of the iMax B6 but this does not come with the USB function.
Other: I'm making an order for my third unit and now I wished that I had just ordered three units in Bulkrate which should have saved me a little instead of making three separate orders.

Pros: Nice unit with lots of features. I had a previous version, but this one is even better. You can link it to the PC, suitable free software can be found here:
<http://www.logview.info/cms/index.php?d_logview_info>. The temperature input is the serial data out, but you must invert the signal before you bring it to pin 2 of the serial connector of your PC. Ground is the one furthest from the DC in, bring it to pin 5 of the serial. The pin closest to the DC input is +5V, useful to power the signal inverter with. Seems to work nicely that way.
Cons: The power transistors are not properly mounted to the case. This can be solved by screwing them to the back plate, but it seems you must use insulating mica washers. The paint acts as isolator in the stock unit ;-). Surely the transistors would have burned in my unit, given how hot the case gets with properly mounted ones.
The beeper is much too loud. (same as older versions of this charger). You must quieten it by putting glue in the speaker or you will go crazy.
This charger sometimes needs a mighty inrush current when you hook it up. Good quality lab power supplies can detect this and go into constant current mode, preventing a successful start. Put a capacitor parallel or put a battery on the output and it will work.
Voltage accuracy was not fantastic (approx 1%). You can tweak the voltage divider resistors (under the display).
Other: You can put M3 studs to mount the bottom plate instead of the screws, they will keep distance to the table (for better cooling).
You can also replace the stock power input jack with two 4mm sockets, now you are glad there are two holes side by side ;-)
The input appears protected against reverse polarity (mine survived anyway).

Pros: + Full control of the charging currents
+ Nice solid construction
+ Very useful for recovering batteries and/or knowing their real capacity
+ Really nice case
+ Looks very Professional
Cons: - Inaccurate Current & Voltage measurings (+- 5% I estimate)
- DC cable included doesnt fit
- Thermal sensor not very intuitive to connect
- PC Interface is really a MYSTERY !!!!
Other: This is suitable if you want to have more control over the charging of a battery pack, and a little error (inacurate V/A readings) doesnt terrify you.

Pros: cheap charger that works i believe in pretty much any battery you would use on r/c's these days... i did quick test on lipo nimh and nicd and worked like a champ... was nice to see the cables that was inclued as well.. even has a cte case with it :)it was smaller trhan i thought too and thats a bonus as well.. my shelf's and drawers are packed as is so this will fit anywhere really.... i did not even read manual yet thats how easy it was to use...
Cons: so far did not find any cons... for the price i dont think i could go and complain about anything anyways
Other: good charger and does everything my old triton etc hyperion chargers did but for way less money :)
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: + Many details of the charging.
+ Solid construction and compact.
+ Very useful
+ Simple menu
Cons: - Thermal sensor not very intuitive to connect. The correct connection is:
- The pin closest to the DC input is WHITE (+5)
- The central pin is RED (Temp)
- The furthest from the DC is BLACK(GND)
- The power transistors are not properly mounted to the case. The paint acts as isolator in the stock unit
- The resistor number 16 looks a little burned and smell like this... not good signal :(
Other: It's not perfect but if you want, can improve it to have a long live.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Very sturdy build and nicely painted.
It comes in AL case.
Lot of cables/connectors and thermal probe.
Depends on where are you from, but for me it costs about half price!
Beeping sound can ba switched off! :)
Cons: 1. Transistors.
Well it's not really a con since you can put away the back panel and bend them if it's needed.
I just think that they could be better (more amps)
The price of better transistors is just few cents more so there is no reason for it.
They "should" take 5 amps but I doubt that they will work for very long.
2. If the source is just 0,1V more than 18V the charger will stop working.
Other: I didn't tried to charge really strong batteries so I can't talk about it but I'm charging 7,4v 950mAh Lipo with 1A and it works without problems.
(The charger is quite cool at these settings)
I think if you know about electronics you could find a replacement for the transistors.
But for the price it's really good.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: +Price is lower than any other charger
+a lot of stuff aditional to the charger
Cons: -in the way it is origionaly build it would destroy itself while real usage by overheating, especialy while discharging because power transistors have no thermal connection to the case
-incorrectvoltage measurement
-incorrect balancing
-wires are to thin
-tepm. plug does not realy fit
Other: Mystery LCD Digital Balance Charger and Discharger (1~6 Cell Lithium / 1~15 Cell NiCD/NiMH)is a cheap charger and when i sag cheap i realy mean cheap!
I guess neither in america then in europe this charger would get on the market, but thats why we are buing in china!
With al litle bit of preparing it an fixing the chinese mistakes its quite good for the price!
