    Pros: - Good strength
    - durable
    - they're magnets spheres what more can i say!!!

    Cons: - really tiny
    - when i saw the package came in and i thought i am gettin rippee off!
    - Needless to say this is a ripe off consider almost 14$ only gives you 100x of these things. Definitely not worth it!
    - Easy to loss if you happen to drop 1 of them on the floor (consider yourself warned)

Other: They're good magnet spheres BUT DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT! Wait for a price drop somewhere, honestly i think these spheres are only worth no more then 4$. I think DX just priced at 14$ b/c of the stupid hype.

Pros: They stick together, so you don't lose them as long as you are a bit careful
With a few hundred, you can make innumerable shapes and play endlessly
The magnets are all the same size, so there are no problems making shapes (as apparently was the case with the first 6mm batch, which I also have a couple)
They're strong enough to hold together (a string of about 100 can be held suspended by one end easily) but not too strong to pry apart

Cons: Careful with creditcards, floppies, ...
    You always need more!
They are a little small to manipulate. Get yourself some nimble fingers along with this item!

Other: Great fun, hard to keep your hands off them for a while, but you never have enough because you will want to keep the successful shapes you've built!

Pros: The reviewer who complained about the price (and the packaging?!?) hasn't shopped much for rare earth magnets.
These are amazing but very tiny. 3mm is just two dimes stacked together. I ordered both the 3 and 6mm varieties and was suprised just how small 3mm really is. That doesn't make the price any less attractive. I would pay four times (plus shipping) at the site where I have bought other rare earth magnets.

Cons: With a magnifier you can see that the coating on these magnets is very rough. This may cause them to wear a little faster when they rub against each other.

Other: Understand what your are buying here. These are really tiny, but a lot of fun because of that very fact.

Pros: The spheres are very interesting, you can see the physics in action. They do some crazy stuff.
It's compact, you can cary in your pocket and have some fun when you have nothing to do. You can make some shapes or even a customized ring.
They are very strong, you can used them as a ordinary magnet.

Cons: They are VERY small! When I received the package, I thought there was nothing inside!
I don't think it worths $13,00. It's too much money for such small things

Other: Even though it contains 100 spheres, it's not enough. They are soo small that looks like there are only 20!
In fact, if you want to use them for building some structure, forget it, but, if you want to have fun in the boring times, click "buy" now!

  • Coolest Ive ever seen!

    posted by iMacG5 on 15:39:12 G7T 17/07/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Very beautiful small glittery silver shining spheres. Absolutely even in size and shape. They have the exakt size and look of those in the chain holding the bath tube plug.
And directly out of the packing "viola!" they were easily formed into a look alike 30cm chain.
2 secs later I had ringled the chain onto my finger and "viola!" I had a startling 12mm broad supercool silvery ring. A good way to carry them with you!
They can be formed to anything!

Cons: 30cm (3mm x 100) bathtub chain is really not much to play with. I wish I had a bath tub full of these spheres.
I just have to buy at least 10 x 100 of them at once - no less will do!
If you drop them they can be anywhere, not only on the floor. On the fridge, on a door handle, your car keys....

Other: If you feel like me about simple beauty these are no.1 must have.

  • Good for playing

posted by dextremeeal on 14:41:56 G8T 30/08/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - There are thousands of possibilities what you can build with these spheres
    - It's a really addicting toy... :-D
    - They are very strong for such small magnets
    - There were 100 spheres in the pack - I counted them ;-)

Cons: - The spheres pop together with much force when you release them near each other.
    - The (tin?) plating is very thin on these spheres.
So, when spheres collide, the plating easily gets rubbed off. Consequently, you see the neodymium material shine through.
    - After playing a while with the spheres, they not only have dark points where the plating is destroyed, but: Your hands get dirty with Neodymium oxides from the spheres!

Other: Get them, they are cheap!
But remember, they won't last long.
Or buy SKU 13504, the larger spheres. They are even more fun.

Pros: Very strong at first. Fun to play with. You can make couple of shapes.

Cons: The magnets are very strong at first but after while when the silver coating gets rubbed off after extensive uses. The attraction becomes weak and looks ugly. Too small to make any real shapes and designs.
And for the price its not worth it.

Other: If you got the extra cash or points then sure get it. But i got bored of it after the first week. Too pricy for this package. If it was cheaper then maybe it'll be worth while. Me got them at impulse.

posted by yonathand on 14:26:27 G7T 25/07/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Good and fun, keeps you busy while you're waiting for something or you're just enjoying them during some time off. I can say the build quality is good, magnets are pretty strong and work properly, I only had 1 that was chipped a bit, but that was already done when they were made so it's not DX's fault.

Cons: None really, just keep them away from your credit cards as they are whiped when you hold it too close to them.

Other: Proper quality, good fun, keep it away from cards and such, overal a nice thing to buy for either yourself or as a gift for friends!
