Pros: This my first powerful torch light ever have, power up using 1 AA battery only. The built quality is good. The brightness is very bright. If i use 14500 battery, i am sure that the brightness will be more. I tried to turn on the torch light for about 30 min & i can feel that the casing turn warm. however it does not causing any problem.
Cons: None
Other: Those who want to buy a torch light that has flood to throw function & would like to use AA battery, i will suggest them buy this. At this price, you get a good quality, bright ray, why consider other of those much expensive torchlight. you can use AA battery here.

Pros: Pretty bright for one AA Focus is click index good feel Flood to throw works well would make a nice glovebox, toolbox, nightstand light low mode perfect for mapreading or a trip to the bathroom without waking spouse or GF
Cons: none at this price. I will look at other NF lights High medium and low would be more useful than high-medium and strobe
Other: handy all around general purpose indoor or glovebox light

Pros: I have alot of DX lights and this is another winner. It's also the only focussing light I have from them. Focus works well and has a rigid rotary click to hold each setting. I wasn;t expecting that but it's a great feature. Light is well made and solid. Finish is even and well applied. like any light in this price range and lumen, it's a good deal.
Cons: None so far other tha nthe threads being dirty and the lense has smudges o nthe inside. Easy fixes but it shows poor QC. Not a deal breaker but worth mentioning. I can see the clip breaking in the future but as long as I don't abuse it, it should be fine.
Other: Another great AA light. Well built and a change from all of my other lights.

Pros: Ok, this is my first CREE light. I tried to get an LED-Module for my MAG 3D but in my oppinion it was toooo expensive (30€ ~ 39$). So i decided to try the X8455: Woooooha!!!
- Small
- Brightness is awesome
- Focus has a good range
- Light-colour is very nice, it´s white, not blue-white
- 3 Modes are great (max, min, flash)
- Runs with a 1,2V/NiMh and it´s still very brigt
- price/performance ratio: unbelievable !!!!!
Cons: - by focusing the LED-emitter-shape gets visible, so you dont get a round spot, but who cares
Other: Awesome product ! If you are looking for a cheap and small torch light that has a focus and runs with AA and 14500 batteries, get it!

Pros: This flashlight has a high quality look. The turning mechanism to change the focus of the lens.
Works by AA 1.2 V lithium battery, and from 14 500 3.7 Volts. From a lithium battery brightness is excellent.
From AA battery shines weaker, but still much better than conventional flashlights usually on incandescent lamps. It has 3 modes, strong-weak-stroboscope.
Cons: For all the time no problems were found, a good flashlight.
Other: The narrow beam is impractical, but the wide beam is very convenient. Lantern is well suited to gift to friends, and no one will think that it is cheap Chinese))

Pros: Very good pocket light. Very easy to use. The rotating mechanism to apply the flood/trow application is quite useful unlike other flashlights that share the feature but w/o rotating crown. The lumens seem to be right, and i would rate the beam distance to probably 120 yards approximately.
Cons: None.
Other: Definitely a good pocket flashlight and a good buy. If you are in to high quality cree light, then this is the one for you.

Pros: Very good flashlight. It gives strong bright light, it can be focused or unfocused, giving small spot or flood light. It has a belt strap. The lense and the button protected by the edges of the case. The case is full aluminium, very robust. All jointings is well greased.
Cons: It's not very convenient to switch modes with only one button.
The flashlight is not watertight.
Other: Buy it! It worth it's money!!!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: full metal body
bright as hell!
good size not too small but still portable
three modes on it, strobe, high, low
LED is of a square shape with vertical lines so that you know when the light is at maximum focus.
great price
Cons: focusing ring isn't as sturdy as it should be(made from plastic and feels a bit flimsy)
Other: very goood little flashlight. couldn't have asked for anything more. This is my first one from DX and looking for more! BUY it!

Pros: Expecting a loosely bunged together throwaway, but this torch has unexpectedly exceeded all expectations. Having tired of using AA's on it, I chucked in a 14500 and it outshines my UniqueFire G10 CREE XP-G R5 1-Mode 350-Lumen. SKU 55244. And unlike the UniqueFire G10 (gotta run AA's on that now, for fear of burning it out), doesn't get close to warm. The heat dissapates because of the focal design. It's not compressed like the solid G10 and allows the air inbetween the pill and the terminal, with a bit of thermal paste there's more than enough room to manage the heat of the 14500. Grease the threads, clean the lens, tighten up the reflector to ensure enough room for the 14500 (the AA being slightly smaller) and off you go. And unlike the G10, it doesn't burn a hole in your hand after 10mins. Its focal flood is pretty passable, and its zoom is pretty effective, although on full zoom it does mimic the square shape of the Cree. Not a problem for me, the power with a 14500 more than compensates for that little minor nit-pick.
The focus mechanism rotates and is not a push-me, pull-me type, and I un-screwed the body and rotated it so the clip sits the other way. All works dandy. Buy one, and if you get a good one it'll be a pleasant surprise. No problems with this torch. Quality is good for the price. One of the cheaper Cree's and as I've already said, unexpectedly good.
Cons: Isn't really waterproof, but I did take it out while it was bucketing down and no issues. Worked a treat. Though don't take it scuba diving without improving it. The 14500 cell does not immediately sit well until you screw the reflector in a bit more. But it's an easy cure.
The focussing ring is loose, but acceptable. This is probably the flashlights weakest point, a tightening up of tolerances, an extra seal around the ring too would see this become a real seller.
Other: What do you guys want for under $10. Wickedly bright light and fast becoming a favorite. And it's focusable. Buy one, no 14500 light runs cooler. The G10 is resigned to the cupboard for now. Great EDC for me.

Pros: - Cheap
- full metal body
- strong clip (reversible)
- flood to zoom
- compact and not heavy
- light has a nice pure white color
- three modes are useful
- crowned edge makes this torch also usable for SD
Cons: - with AA batteries it's not so bright, about 50 lumens
- the led shape is visible at maximum zooming
- I don't like too much the orange cap
Other: Worth to buy, better use it with 14450 batteries
