What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: 1. Bigger handhold, which is important if you have big hands or have a heavy lens or flash attached. 2. Extra shutter button for portraits (vertical orientation). 3. Ability to use AA batteries (convenient when you are travelling or if you are the type to forget to charge the batteries) 4. Can use two batteries to double the battery capacity.
Cons: If you want to make the camera as small and inconspicuous as possible, you'll want to lose the grip (and the big honkin' zoom, too). If the 4 reasons above don't apply to you, you might want to use the money that you would have spent on the grip for other things.
Other: Having room for 2 batteries is also fantastic - I know you said you didn't have this problem, but for me, if I'm at an airshow for example, I know and have confidence that I can shoot all day, and fill my memory cards well before I have any issues with batteries dying. Also, if caught in a pinch, the battery grip allows you to use AA batteries to power your camera too.
