    Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

    Pros: Allows a computer to communicate with your Volkswagen car. Unit seemed almost solid and durable, I just have to be careful not to drop it. It works fine with my car/laptop (both are a few years old).

    Cons: No CD included. Though a free up-to-date software version can be found on the original manufacturer's site.

    Other: A must have for Volkswagen drivers, just like Torx bits! ;) Really it's a convenient tool to diagnose problems and adjust parameters within the control modules.
