Pros: Notice: Fat PSP 1001 owner. I understand computers and devices pretty well, I guess. I can figure stuff out. I don't game very much.
I received the package. It had the Pandora and the memory card. The memory card was in "retail" "Sony" packaging while the Pandora was in bubble wrap, taped to the card.
I put the memory stick in and my real battery and plugged the PSP into my computer using the USB part of the USB/Charger cable from DX [sku.65]. I used "PSP Grade" to format the memory stick - it took a couple of minutes to put all the files on.
Next, WHILE HOLDING DOWN THE LEFT TRIGGER, I attached the charger part of the cable and put in the Pandora, with my magic MS still inside. I hit X to install 3.80 M33. It finished in a few minutes. I took out the Pandora and put in the real battery. It booted but this time with a the new firmware! I then changed some settings and found out how I could successfully play a legally backed up game.

Cons: The memory stick is blank [AS NOTED BY DX, I KNEW BEFORE I PURCHASED]. DX should sell "Pandora Battery *NOW WITH FREE MAGIC MS!*" as I have seen another site do. I don't think they can SELL the magic MS, but they could do that. It would only take a few minutes per unit. This way, the end user doesn't have to spend a whole 10 minutes making the card magic themselves :).
Which brings me to my next point. The card I received was in fake Sony packaging, but apparently DX took a magic marker and blacked out the main Sony logo at the top front of the package. It still had the fake hologram and all the other Sony logos, including the logo on the MS, however. I like that they don't advertise it as a genuine Sony or anything, but they could still get a blank MS so it doesn't violate copyright laws.

    Other: Have a bricked PSP?
Have a PSP and want to play legally backed up games in accordance with your local laws?
Have a tiny tiny bit of technical knowledge?
Don't want to spend a ton of money?
    BUY THIS KIT!!!
Note: Check prices of the battery and card separately before buying to get the best deal.

Pros: -cheap and comes with a 2GB Memory card for about $20
-easy to use, just put it in the psp when instructed to
    -comes with about 80% charge

Cons: -build quality a bit iffy
-it doesn't fit the psp slip properly, I had to hold the battery in the compartment while flashing
-the memory stick looks authentic but it isn't, so the transfer speed is slow

Other: It's definitely a must buy for down+upgrading your psp to play iso and cso files! Follow the instructions on how to do that carefully and u'll have the perfectly hacked psp in no time! Also note that 2GB isn't enough for games because most game ISOs are over 1GB each.. I recommend getting the 4GB or 8GB memory stick..

Pros: + Useful for running "homebrews" on the PSP
+ Useful for unbricking PSPs; gives peace of mind
+ Included memory stick is compatible with the creation of magic memory stick (duh?)

Cons: - Memory stick slower than average
    - Memory stick has a company logo that it's not supposed to have
    - Battery, while physically fits (and works) in a slim PSP, does not allow the battery cover to be installed
    - Potential one-time use only; subsequent firmware updates can be done online through the PSP itself

Other: A sound investment if you own a PSP.

Pros: Good price. Build quality pretty good. Black, not that ugly red Datel uses. Compatible with slims and phats.

Cons: Memory stick it comes with has a slow write speed (read speed is fine). Cheap (actually, none) packaging.

Other: A must-have for any PSP owner. Easier and more cost-efficient than making your own.

Pros: Cheaper and safer than hard modding your own battery. Soft modding a battery requires a phat PSP already running custom firmware, so this is a great option for people who just bought a slim and need to get the most out out of it. You could technically also only buy the battery alone, but having a dedicated Magic Memory Stick in case of future bricking is very handy.

Cons: The Memory Stick is blank, so you need to do some research beforehand. I used PSP Grader v4 software to create my Magic Memory Stick on a card reader. Easy to use if you know what you are doing. Could be a hazard otherwise. The memory stick is branded to be official, but I am sure it is a knockoff. There should have been no need for this. We all know that a good off brand stick will work fine. Label it as such and there is no room for doubt.

Other: One of the single best purchases one can make after buying a PSP besides the necessary physical protection.

Pros: - Can be used to fix a bricked PSP.
    - Battery comes Pre-Pandorized for easy modding.
    - Bundle is cheap overall.

    Cons: - No Instructions
    - Battery and Memory Card came crushed, fortunately nothing was damaged (I hope)
    - Fast shipping (5 days, compared to the estimated 11 - 15 days.)

Other: I've got the battery for latter use and memory card was an added bonus, I bought a Holder so it doesn't get damaged. Would only recommend this to someone who knows what they are doing or have had previous experience before. It is possible to do it with no former experience but it will be a headache.

  • Very Useful Bundle For PSP Owners

posted by alpersavran on 02:45:31 G7T 21/07/2008 certificated customer

Pros: A mutual bundle if you want to play ISO and CSO games in your PSP phat or slim. Comes in a very good package, in fact realy hard to get damage. Having this bundle cost me 1/4 price of similar ones in my country. If you know how to change the version it takes 5 minutes to down\up grade your psp.

Cons: Write speed of memory stick is slow but that does not effect game play. If you dont have any ideas how to change the version it will take long and hard hours to fix your psp.

Other: A must have bundle for PSP owners. I easily downgraded 3 PSP slims to make them play ISO and CSO games. A very good price!!!

Pros: comes with everything (expect software) to downgrade or unbrick a psp. In my country just the battery new is 40+ dollars, or used 30. So battery and memory stick for the price is just perfect.

Cons: memory stick dose not have files needed to downgrade, but if you psp-hacks.com has a perfect tutorial on what to do for people that have the pandora battery but are in need of the pandora files.

Other: perfect for what its needed for.

Pros: Seriously a must buy for ALL PSP users who want to save $100s of dollars!!!! Easy to use once you have made the magic memory stick, really, REALLYYYYY cheap price! Can fit 3 of my games. Easy to use once you know how. Pandora battery has TOOL written on it (looks fancy). The memory cards speed isn't slow or fast, but its ok. The pandora battery is light, and it came well packaged (wrapped in layers of bubble wrap).

Cons: None at all! I don't care if the card is fake or not, as long as it works!

Other: Great price, works well, no-one else can beat this price, really good! THANKS DX!
