What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. If you are looking for wholesale prices please feel free to contact us.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Easy to use and setup if using supported modem - Nice design - Good battery life - Rich with features
Cons: Huawei 3G USB modem compatibility problems: - E180 with newer firmwares has to be reconfigured using AT^U2DIAG command to disable modem add-ons (storage) otherwise it is not recognized by MIFI - does not work with newer Huawei modems (e.g. E173 - shipping with Mobile Partner ver. 21+) - "Forgets" configuration if battery empty or USB modem is pulled out when device switched on - Randomly disables WLAN when connected to certain mobile operators with E180 - can be reenabled only with factory reset or using LAN cable
Other: The biggest issue for me is random disabling of WLAN when connecting to one mobile operator (it works without problems with a different operator). Be prepared for a lot of testing and tweaking if it does not work out of the box. Once disabled, WLAN can be enabled only via LAN cable or factory reset. Both methods unfortunately are not acceptable if you do not have access to laptop or desktop computer and you want to use device for portable hot stop.
