  • Best Value for GPS Tracker

Pros: This GPS Tracker has everything that I need from the features and the price. When it is arrived, I really surprise with the size of it, it is small and compact and I really can put it almost anywhere in my car or even … in my motorbike. The signal reception for GSM is good, last time I test it in my room, the GPS Signal from the satellite is not available but the GSM Signal should be available. Testing with one miscall to the device and received an SMS back with the information of the IMEI, Battery condition and zero position of latitude and longitude. Bring it outside and test it again, the position is received from the device it is shown in the received SMS. The timing needed to lock the satellite is short as well. Charging working fine with different battery that I bought separately (Nokia BL-4B, pictures uploaded) and the amount of time to charge it is similar with mobile phone charging time with the same battery. The manual book is clear and tested on the device, no problem so far.

Cons: When I received the package basically everything listed are there but the condition is different. The CD that I received had a small crack in the center; I tried to read it on many different computers but have no luck since the CD itself is not really protected inside the package. I received two batteries and all of them are not working. I tried with different method to charge this battery since the model is the same with Nokia battery but still no luck, it looks like all of them are dead batteries.

Other: This is great device (in my case), If you want to build something that can track realtime, small, or even make money by building the project of GPS Tracking via GSM/GPRS then this is the device for your prototype that you need. Have fun !

    Pros: Small and cheap.
    Two batteries.
Fast GPS startup. Faster than my smartphone.
    Configuration via SMS

    Cons: Configuration via SMS
Have no idea how to connect it to PC (linux)
    Doesn't send altitude.
Not standard USB socket and charger.

Other: Well. It's still cheap and it works.

  • Does what it should do

Pros: Though it is a clone of the TK-102, it does not affect the operation. It is small and light-weight, and once set up, it does what is should do. Now it nicely sends TCP packets through GPRS with the NMEA GPMRC sentences. One can even use a free web-based tracking service with this device.

Cons: US type AC adapter. Hey guys, most of the world lives outside the USA. The house if cheap plastic, in need of deburring. The "software" CD contains manuals (for TK-102 and TK-103) in English and Chinese. The only software on the disk is a Google Earth installer.

    Other: Not disappointed.

  • A few additional remarks

Pros: Accuracy is in +/- 25 meters. Not too bad for such a small internal antenna.

Cons: Though documentation say the minimum sampling frequency is 20 seconds, it won't accept requests below 30 s. Nevertheless, position is sent in 40-90 second intervals. (GPRS) The batteries are labeled as 1200 mAh but they provide much less power, as it is usual with most batteries at DX. I would say they have a 600-700 mAh real capacity. The 24-48 hours operating time may be valid only if the device is used in geo-fence or movement alert mode, or being polled in SMSs. Otherwise the live GPRS connection eats up the batteries in less than 6 hours. The LED signs are cryptic in absence of a manual.

Other: Still, it does what it says, and can be used for the advertised purpose. Beware, secret tracking is illegal in most countries. If used for child tracking, another model with voice SOS call button is a better choice. Using an external power source one can make a good hidden anti-theft vehicle tracker.

    Pros: The low price.
    It is small and light-weight
Accuracy of display on a card about 10-15 meters

Cons: The weak battery. It is heavy to use and adjust

Other: In my country such trackercosts for 50 dollars more expensively. I am happy with purchase

  • Great tracker

Pros: Works pretty well. I use for tracking my dogs (not hunting, just roaming free) and this does the job. I can check where the dogs are, I can listen what they do. The battery lasts for 3 days and then I swap for the ready charged. This sends an SMS when it's time to change the battery. Great piece!

Cons: I would like to see the track. Now I can only check where it is now. It is also a pain in the --- to first call, then wait for the SMS, then check from the map where the location is. Usually it takes a minute to get the SMS and the it's a hell of a job to punch in the coordinates to the map with an icy iPhone... Maybe I use it wrong :)

Other: I have already find tons of uses for this. If you have a kid or elderly friends, just put this and they can always beep you for pick up. Or you can locate. Same with pets.

Pros: The device arrived broken, not in working condition. I not the first time face that that DX send the broken things. And, then suggest to send them back at own expense) Nonsense. It was my last purchase on DX.

Cons: The green diode blinks - regardless of that costs SIM a card or not. And occurs nothing generally.Doesn't react to ON-OFF button clicking.

Other: I think it is time to stop to buy here something.
