Pros: + Same size as a normal floppy drive
+ Picks up as a USB floppy, works like it should
+ Has rubber feet so it doesn't vibrate a hell of a lot...
Cons: - ...but it's just as loud, if not louder, than a regular internal FDD
Other: = Decent value
= Works as a FDD should
= A bit loud, though.
= Can use a Netac with FDD emulation instead, but more expensive

Pros: First of all, it's a TEAC drive, which is great. It is very well built, finishing is excellent, silent, doesn't require a separate power supply. I bought this drive to use on a motherboard that doesn't feature a floppy connector and it worked right out of the box. Pure, easy and simple Plug & Play: it can be connected either before starting the PC or after the OS has loaded. Either way it is recognized and no drivers are needed. It worked with both Windows 7 (64-bit) and Windows XP (32-bit): no drivers were needed. The fact that it is a TEAC drive plays an important role here: compatibility. I also was recognized by Windows XP's F6 driver installation as a regular floppy. It is also very thin (about 30-40% thinner than a regular floppy) and looks great!
Cons: When I booted the computer with the drive plugged in, it failed to recognize it twice (out of several reboots). Moving the drive to a USB hub solved the problem immediatly.
Other: I am very glad with it: it looks good, it works very well. For those with newer motherboards that don't have a built-in floppy connector but still require the feature, I highly recommend this drive. It is also recommended for those who are support staff having to deal with machines with no or broken floppy drives, and often on the road.

Pros: Good quality floppy diskette drive, usb plug 'n play, works perfectly, good price. Comes with instalation manual in chinese and english, and a instalation drivers mini cd, both for windows 98. As my computer's system is Windows XP, I didn't use them.
Cons: The only con I could think about it is that the cable could be a little longer (it is about 40 cm = 15,75 inches), and that the drive side of the cable is soldered and fixated inside the drive, so there's no way to replace it.
Other: If you need a good quality usb fd drive, good price, good build quality, get it. I'm very satisfied with mine.

Pros: Teac. Sturdy, light, looks nice and professionnal. No power supply needed, juste one USB cable. No driver needed (for xp and up). Connect, it works ! Works great, really !
Cons: Price is a bit high. It is quite noisy. People who do not remember how floppy drives sreeks and squeeks will think something is broken. Floppy are so SLOOOOW. And 1,44 Mo - not Go, Mo ! Almost forgot...
Other: Great if you need a floppy in this USB world. Just remember : noisy, and 1,44 Mo (0,00144 Go !!!)

Pros: You can use it to upgrade your BIOS without any problem(if your computer have support for boot from USB). I couldn't make my flash drive usable to upgrade my BIOS, but this diskette drive works without problem. Don't need any extenal power supply, it uses just the own USB cable. Works perfectly with Windows 7(plug and play). The Windows recognize it like an real FDD, so this drive is my B: unity, like another Floppy Drive that it's plugged directly on the motherboard.
Cons: The green light don't flash when in use, it just stay green all the time that the floppy is in use. Just that.
Other: Of course that the diskettes are not the smaller, the silent, the faster and with the bigger capacity, but is awesome you remember the old times...

Pros: - Does work in Windows7 without the cd drivers - Plug it in and it works (extra station) - Reads all the disks I fed - No external power supply - NEC controller is used
Cons: - The green LED is not bright enough - Led is not blinking when there are data operations (read/write) - The USB plug isn't fastened firmly in place (had this with aal usb ports) - My device was dirty and had some scratches - Doesn't work with my Linux system (Xubuntu), it's not plug and play, maybe after some tweaking it does.
Other: Overall I'm happy with this product and does what it must do.

Pros: Very easy to use just plug and play. Works with Mac OSX Snow Leopard and Lion at least. Also got it to work with Ubuntu Linux 11.04 running on Parallels Desktop 6 but it is a bit tricky. Just randomly plugged, unplugged a few times on a different usb ports and it may work on the virtual machine. This also works on a BIOS level. So if you need to use this to boot a PC machine with a diskette it works (at least with a few year old machines)
Cons: If you need to reconnect the drive it will most likely need to be connected on a different USB port.
Other: Works great. I use this on OS development.

Pros: As Floppy connection disappear from motherboards it is getting harder to just say to people, Just stick an old floppy drive in. This unit brings that floppy ability back to a PC once again, I have mine packed in my netbook case, and if there is an old floppy that needs to be copied to DVD I'm ready.
Cons: As others have mentioned the cable is a bit short, but this can also be a positive as there is less cable to put away when you're finished.
Other: Now is the time to buy this old tech, when you have to deal with a floppy in 5 years time(possible), these will very expensive and rare.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: I bought this unit because I had an old floppy disk that had required data on it, The disk also had some bad sectors on it. The unit read the disk with a disk fixer without a problem. The unit also didn't require the driver, just plug in and away you go.
Also being external less dust will be sucked into it, when not running.
This unit is small enough to keep in a laptop bag if required.
Cons: Apart from being old technology I can't really see any.
Other: Get it if you need one.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: It is a good floppy drive, easy to use, plug in and just works. I tested it with a Macbook air and it works good. It reads all diskettes. Very useful to retrieve old documents from old diskettes, as new computers do not include a floppy disk drive anymore.
Cons: Sometimes you have to unplug and plug it again because the diskettes don't spin correctly. The build quality is not super.
Other: Buy it if you need a floppy disk drive, there aren't much alternatives and this works OK
