Pros: Very good and cheap way of getting into the world of close-up photography.
Fits camera perfectly.....nice hard case to keep it safe...no marks on the glass anywhere....
Cons: Not a con, but it did take me a few goes to figure out how to work it!!!!!!!!!!
Im not daft, but i thought i could use it at my 28mm setting, but no, it needs to be used at the telephoto end.
Which now means that i have to buy a tripod now so i can get a steady shot.
Other: Very nice....solid filter....i highly recommend this to anyone getting into macro photography

Pros: Really strong macro lens. Zooms really good. Material is ok.
Cons: Don't put your macro lens uncovered in your camera bag! I almost set my bag on fire because I puted my lens uncovered in my bag in the sun! That's how strong the lens is!
Other: great product for a good price. Free shipping is nice. I would'nt ordered this without free shipping! So credits for deal extreme!
Also the delivery time is good and this product is of good quality!
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: -good price; -good optical quality; -easy of use;
Cons: -nothing to say!! It simply works...
Other: Very good macro-effect lens; I love macro photos and this filter in the EF-S 18-55 lens of my 450D created beautyful effects... I recommend this filter for all people that own a dSLR and don't wish (or can) pay the price of a really macro lens...

Pros: Great product for macro use.
Focuses much closer with this lens.
Good magnification.
Cons: Hard to focus - I recommend you to use manual focus only.
Can not attach more filters on top of this one, because the lens (glass) has a large curve that goes outside.
Can not the lens cap with this one - so I have to remove this macro magnification lens each time after I use it, and screw it on back when I want to use it again.
Other: Great product for macro use.
Cheap and looks great.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - Fits any 58mm lens.
- Magnifies the subject significantly.
- Able to focus with less distance to your subject.
- Cheap alternative to an actual macro lens.
Cons: - Lens cap does indeed not fit on after attachment, this due to the lens' curve.
Other: If you are looking for a way to be able to come closer to your subject: Get this filter. It's definitely a great accessory.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: - good quality housing
- decent quality glass
- brings in your subject a lot more
- gives a standard lens a macro feature
- very popular 58mm filter thread found on most lenses or most adapters
Cons: - introduces fringing or enhances it
- very limited focus range
Other: I use this on my Canon G10 compact camera with the lens adapter also found on DealExtreme and it has helped me make interesting macro photos ! It's especially interesting if you don't have an SLR camera but want a better macro feature. If your camera has an adapter fitting or a filter thread, you can probably use it, with or without adapters.

Pros: - cheap.
- allows you to focus on your object from a much closer distance.
Cons: - screwing it on and off can be a bit of a hassle
- when screwed on you cant use the lens cap
- in my opinion allows you to focus from a too close distance meaning you need to be really really close to your object
Other: don't think twice! buy it :)

Pros: I wanted a macro lens. This is effective as a macro lens. cheaper than the conventional lens but cheaper at another site that sells the lens without the casing. built is good and i am able to take closeup pictures. It is useful if u need a macro lens.
Cons: I ordered this here although it is cheaper at another place as the picture showed a nice transparent casing that this lens comes in, which i wanted.
However i did not recieve the transparent casing!
Other: I am not sure if there was a mistake in my shipment or if the transparent casing is not included.
Buy if you don't care about the casing.
If you want the casing, wait a while, am not sure if it comes with the lens as shown in the picture.

Pros: It's an 8X magnifying lens that attaches to the front of your current lens. It basically magnifies the image to simulate a macro shot. It's not the correct way to do macro photography but it is a very cheap way to have fun trying to learn about taking macro pics.
Solidly built of metal and glass and it screwed right onto the front of my haze filter.
Cons: It came in a velcro protective pouch that stunk like crazy. I couldn't even stand to use the pouch so i threw it away.
Other: Worth buying this if you want to dabble in macro photography but don't want to pay the outrageous price of buying a real macro lens.
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Well built and cheap, works well up to around 150 mm. Easy to use and the threads are exact, comes in a nylon bag.
Cons: Works bad over 200 mm zoom, but that is maybe a problem of this method of macro. Other than that it works very well exept the milky surrounding of unfocused objects with focal distance over 200.
Other: Gets you closer to the object by helping the lens to focus on shorter distances. Just like reading glasses witch also means it is useless for anything but macro photo.
