What is Bulk Rate? BulkRate is a semi-wholesale system with items priced separately from retail. When you use bulk rates, a flat $1.70 registered air mail fee will automatically be added to your cart to ensure delivery of package. While BulkRate's intention is to offer cheaper prices when you buy in bulk, because it is priced separately it on occassions show a higher than retail price. That's why we ask you to enter BULKRATE as a coupon code to manually activate the rates. You can always opt not to use the bulk rates. Pros: Many cool white LEDs have a blueish color and many warm white LEDs are greenish, but this one delivers what is claimed, a huge amount of pure white light. The LED is well built on a nickel-plated copper base. I measured the voltage using a laboratory PSU at 3 Amp and got only 31V on my Fluke meter. Considering that the output power is proportional to the current only, this is a good thing because it consumes a little less energy at the rated current than specified. Using a very small current (a few mA), all of the 100 led chips were lighting up very evenly with even color, so they all perform the same. This reduces the chance of individual failure.
Cons: Wish DX had a larger reflector to fit this LED. As with any high-power LED, it needs proper cooling.
Other: I have seen prices elsewhere between $60 and $199 for the same or similar product. Considering that you buy a 100 LEDs in one, the quality of the product and free shipping, this is a very good deal.

Pros: This Led is Running in my hydroponic system. Got it the other day. Im very happy with the light output. You have to use a good size heat sink. I was very happy with the shipping time of this site. I did a test with this LED for a 24 hr time limit. I grew some Beans from 1in height to 4 inch hight in no time flat. Now i was using a grow chamber also, But the light output was like the sun. I had a lot of fun lighting out outside in black darkness. it looked better than any street light i have ever seen. Made the street lights show shadows compared to this light
Cons: There was a low heat build up, But it wasent enought to worry about. Make sure when you mount the led to use a good heat sink compound from this site. I got a 10 pack for cheap.
Other: Usefull for Hydroponics, Parking lots or a total light for your home. Bottom line. Im going to buy more that i knoe how good they are.

Pros: In comparison to a 400W metal halide, using the stock 100W PSU off dx:
*Relatively instant turn on (1 second), no heat up or cool down periods.
*Optics do not need cooling.
*I ran a totally passive system with no fans (big custom aluminium heatsink filled with water to act as a heat pipe and painted black runs at 60-70 degrees) A poorly placed fan easily lowers this by 10 degrees with no effort. So it's difficult to cool but not impossible.
*Optical quality vs MH is fine. The LED runs slightly bluer than the MH lamp.
*LED/power electronics are silent and do not make a buzzing noise.
Cons: *The LED is 8000 lumens vs 36,000 lumens of a 400W MH. Even an end of life 400W MH lamp is brighter despite the LED not needing a lossy reflector or a lossy UV filter.
*Solid aluminium by itself for passive cooling is not enough as it does not draw heat away fast enough. A heatpipe sytem and/or a fan is required.
Other: This puts out 100W of light vs a 200W+ projector bulb that is about as efficient as an LED. Replacing a projector bulb of higher wattage with this lower wattage LED will result in a dimmer image. And projectors usually need all the light they can get.

Pros: Realy bright LED source. I turned in my garden at night,as light as day.
Cons: This LED is very hot and need big heatsink, like from the pc processor.
Other: In the streets we have installed LED lamps, LED that I stuck out the window and turned on. Friends did not believe your own eyes how much it shines.
if you want a good light, buy this LED
