Pyramid Mechanical Metronome

Pros: - Very good price for metronome, shopped a lot of places and these are hard to get at a reasonable price. - Does not need batteries, other DX models are electronic. - Good TICK TICK TICK sound when pendulum goes back and forth.

Cons: - Kind of plasticy. - The pendulum came off during shipment but it was easy enough to put back together (even though the instructions says not to open it up), the bottom opens easily and I tightened the screw that held the pendulum pivot holder. - Pendulum feels kind of cheap and might be a bit fragile as it can be bent quite easily.

Other: Wanted to get a simple metronome to use for the kids to use when they practice their music lessons. This one is a fairly well made and reasonably priced but the shell is somewhat plasticy.

Pros: Excellent. Performs as required. You can change the time signature by pulling the little lever on the side out which plays a little 'ding' every x number of beats.

Cons: The pendulum is a little fragile and occasionally the clear casing sticks a little when putting it on or off.

Other: A good buy. These mechanical metronomes can be hard to find in this electronical age. Well worth the few extra dollars to avoid having to keep it supplied with batteries.
