• Good little light.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: it's small and it has belt clip.

Cons: bit sloppy quality, one scratch mark and dirty reflector and glas inside, but easy to take apart and clean, but it doesn't mean that all are like that.

Other: if u need a small light to bring with u this could be it,

Pros: Just unbelievable that such a little pocket flashlight can bring you so much light. Uses just one CR 123A battery, the rechargables from Ultrafire are an option. Won't go on accidentally, it has a "turn on" switch.

Cons: None, it's just great.

Other: It's a fine piece of equipment, not expensive and really bright. Would and will buy again.

• Great buy

Pros: Great for carry because of small size and clip. Twist switch prevents no accidential on. Twist action is easy enough to turn on the flashlight with one hand. O-rings make it water-tight. Threading is smooth. They were nice enough to put a little grease/lube on it. Batteries do not shake inside flashlight. Clip quality is decent. No blemishes or dirt. Machining was good. Feels like a solid build. Bright (supposedly 100 lumens from website) Thorough smooth and solid output. Decent amount of spill Internal wiring applies constant current drain. Runtime is more than 1 hour (continous). I stopped it at 1 hour. I tested it using a fresh 3V CR123A primary battery (costs $2USD - UltraLast Advanced Technology Photo Lithium. US based company but batteries made in China) This RC-C3 hit the 1 hour mark without getting dim. There was a guy that said his gray RC-C3 only ran for 35 minutes. The romisen website says "Discharging time: 3 hours".

Cons: It gets a little warm at 5 minutes. It will get considerably warm but never hot enough where you can't hold it. If you get sweaty hands easily or modestly, this flashlight is not for you.

Other: Would buy again.

• I love this little light

posted by jayinhk on 07:06:26 G6T 18/06/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Small, lightweight, very bright for its size, cheap, sits low in the pocket, has a clip, can handle rechargeable CR123A (3.7V) without any problems. Clip is easily removable too.

Cons: Nicks in the finish. LED is not user removable (as far as I know) so I can't get to the inside of the glass to clean it. Took a while getting here. Clip is not reversible, so it can't be worn on a hat easily. Twist to turn on (might be an advantage for some). No low power mode.

Other: Great (and cheap) alternative to the Surefire E1B ;) Definitely doesn't have all the features the Surefire does, but you could have 7 or 8 Romisens for the price of one E1B.

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: -Cheap (very).
-Reliable simplicity if a twist cap, no clicky switch to fail.
-Very good DC-DC regulation.
-Good color tint.
-Durable, I dropped it a couple times on the concrete already and it scratched, but it still works fine.
-Smooth threads and firm O-ring engagements throughout.
-Aluminum reflector + glass lens
-Small & easily pocket-able.
-Splash/rain-proof (I have not submerged it however)
-Removable clip
-Tail stands
-Very good beam quality, from spot to flood, perfect for an EDC.
-Runs great with Primaries (65L) even greater on RCR123 (90L).
-You can adjust the head all the way out for lock-out mode, or just slightly turn it off for momentary forward activation.
-Boxed nice with bubble wrap from Romisen, would make a GREAT gift.

Cons: -Gets warm fast on RCR123 cell.
-Low mode would have been really nice.
-Anodize coating seems a little fragile. There is an HA-III version for $21.

Other: Great EDC. This light has replaced my Eveready 1AA (Target) and Ray-O-Vac Sportsman Extreme as my main EDC. The fact that it only costs $13 makes it a real winner.
You can have an OUTSTANDING budget setup running this light with the $6 Ultrafire 4-pack RCR123 and $12 Ultrafire peak-detect charger.

• Nice simple little chubby light.

posted by flashin on 15:19:47 G8T 25/08/2008

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: good price on a well driven cree p4.
very bright for a single 123 battery, but i'm used to buying lights that run on aa/aaa batteries, so this one should be brighter. it has good throw with a larger hotspot than some of the other small lights i own from DX.
it's easy to use, just twist it 'til it comes on. no modes, just on/off.
of coarse the build quality of this light is excellent. if you own any Romisen lights, then you know you can expect the same quality in this one too.
the runtime on a primary 123 is about 90 minutes. it gets pretty warm around 5 min, but not hot. i left it on for 45 min and it onlt got a little warmer, but again, never hot. i rareley have one on for more than 5 or 10 min at a time, unless it's an extreme emergancy, so getting a little warm is not a big deal.
it means,to me, that it has pretty good current management and heat sinking.
it seams to be well sealed, o-rings throughout (there's only 3). i know it is dunkable when screwed down and turned on, as long as the tail is tight too. i've read that some tailcaps are glued in. mine wasn't. i wouldn't submerge it when it's unscrewed in the off position if you can avoid it.
it has a removeable pocket clip that makes it very easy to clip to the top of your shirt or pants pocket, to keep it from floppin' around.

Cons: there is no cons with this light's performance or build.
it's a great light that performs very well.
it is a little chubby in your pocket, but easy to get used to.
sometimes it can be a little tough to turn on/off with one hand. (gotta be smarter than the light i guess)

Other: it's a great little light, that's very simple and well built. Romisen/Cree quality, with DX's pricing and service.
it's well worth it. order one or two.

• Compact powerful light

posted by Black_Rose on 16:38:53 G9T 23/09/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: - Compact size, but not too small.
- Can be operated with one hand.
- Fits nicely in jacket or pants pocket.
- Very bright for it's size.
- Threads were clean and lubed.
- Twist switch has enough resistance to not accidentally turn the light on.
- Works well with primary CR123A cells.
- 640 mA draw on Streamlight CR123A cell; should be good for just over 2 hours run time.
- Good sized spot combined with excellent flood.
- Excellent price for an excellent light.

Cons: - HAII finish chips fairly easily.
- The removable clip easily scratches the finish.
- Too bright for closeup tasks.

Other: - Another quality light from Romisen.
- It only costs a little more than an incan 2xAA minimag, but puts out magnitudes more light.
- Would definitely buy this light again.

• Small and BRIGHT!!

posted by hyperloop on 18:41:50 G11T 09/11/2008 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: Tiny tiny tiny was my first thought, slipped in a 3.0 volt cr123 energizer and the thoughts then wer bright! bright! bright!
Then i slipped in 3.7 volt RCR123s also bought from DX (Soshine cells, can be found here and it was even BRIGHTER!!!
The light did not get hot after a few minutes of use but i didnt want to push it.
The pocket clip is a nice tocuh, not too intrusive that it will snag on stuff in your pockets and on top of that it is removable too, simply unscrew the tail end and remove the clip. i leave it on as it acts as a grip assistor and also as an anti roll mechanism.

Cons: Doesnt look water resistant, will be looking to insert some O-rings somewhere to try to fix that.
Knurling could be a bit more aggressive to assist the twisting of the head but that is not a majot gripe as too aggressive knurling would damage my stuff.

Other: Great price, great buy. Simple 1 mode light without the need to twist here and there to activate different modes. I want light, i got light!
Get it!

• Decent

posted by hyperfish on 23:32:35 G4T 09/04/2009 certificated customer

Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)

Pros: A no brainer to operate. Typical (IE: Excellent!) Romisen build quality. Decent output, won't blow you back on your heels. However, once you compare it to others in it's class & price range, you'll find yourself reaching for it when you need a useful light that won't blind you in tight quarters. (or @ night)
Excellent for working on PCs, or anything within arm's length reach. Also excellent for those same tasks as night chores.

Cons: Pricey compared to something like the Ultrafire C3 @ <$11.

Other: A good twisty CR123 light. Actually, near perfect for an EDC light that can be clipped inside your front jeans pocket, or even a shirt pocket.
