Pros: This is an good red high power led emitter from an high quality supplier (CREE). You can get cheaper (~3 usd for prolight leds) but these are better. Consumes less power and are also brighter.
Cons: None really, could always have been cheaper. But I have not found any sellers on the web sellings these leds for a lower price. DX should have more information about the leds. Which emitter model and bin etc.
Other: Good price for a good led but I lack essential information from dx.

Pros: Good original LED from CREE
Cons: None
Other: This is original Cree LED. There is no info regarding brightness bin code or color bin code. It should be included for information purposes. As far as I know, it should be Cree XR series led. Cree brighter LED, XRE series, only available in White color in various bin code from warmer white neutral white, and cool white. The price are not bad though and the color rendition are pretty close to stated color. In this case, this red LED is red in color without leaning off toward orange, at least to my own eyes. There is no way to precisely know the color spectrum without adequate bin info from supplier.

Pros: It's Cree, Good quality
Easy to solder and connect
Cons: I don't have any.
I wish it came on a smaller star
Other: I'm going to try experimenting with other brands to try to find a brighter red emitter. But I would definitely buy these again.

Pros: This is the original Cree red LED, it works fine with SKU 7612 in flashing modes. I have pushed the led beyond the max. spec'd 700 mA and it is bright enough to lit a small room. For my red taillight I used SKU 15687 and the led fit in the head of the flashlight without any cutting.
Cons: The exact bin is not specified. Could be sold also on 14 mm stars.
Other: As I have stated in the Product request forum it would be great to have this led in a P60 drop-in with a driver similar to SKU 7612

Pros: Bright, Blinding when you mount 4-5 together. Good red color.
Cons: After buying 20 for a project. I have found that the dome lens is only held on with clear silicone. It comes off the emitter very easily. You won't be able to mount into or thhrough any hole without the lens coming off.
Other: Great emitter if you don't need to mount through a hole, or where the lens could get bumped.

Pros: It is cheap and seems to be quite efficient.
It is quite useful in a flashlight, although it should be advised not to use it at full power, it will screw up your night-vision.
You can use it as a taillight on a bicycle, or you can use 10 of them to make a very bright taillight.
You can also use them to grow plants indoors, since plants absorb mostly red light.
Cons: The protective dome is fastened really weakly, it will come of if you put a bit of force on it.
Other: A very handy and cheap LED for numerous applications
Involvement Level: Expert (understands the inner workings)
Pros: Mounted on a convenient to use star. Fairly bright. Good for a bicycle taillight. Other reviews have mentioned the delicate housing, just be careful and it's OK.
Cons: The bin is not mentioned, it could be one of the lower-rated bins and still be relatively bright. Color is red-orange. Note: This is not a 3 watt led - it's rated for 750 ma at 2 volts - that's 1.5 watts.
Other: I would like something closer to red, but this is close enough. Red LED's aren't a popular item and you will have a hard time finding something else. Having it mounted on a star is a big plus.

Pros: I bought this to use in a cheap 2xAA headlamp housing to be directly driven. It's quite bright on moderately flat alkalines and doesn't produce much heat. On rechargeables it's even brighter but good heat sinking is needed for extended use. No real problems with the wavelength (colour), it appears to be fine to me. Doesn't attract bugs as badly as a white LED although you might get the occasional curious insect.
Cons: Wish a yellow version was available.
Other: Efficient red led from a trusted manufacturer.

Pros: very bright and nice red colour, but a little orange. i´m using two sets of this red emitter with SKU.14598 as taillights of my bicycle, driven by a 6V-3W dynamo, using rectifier bridge, a 2200uF/16V capacitor and 1Ohm/1W resistor and 2 CREE red emitter connected in series. So much light it´s possible to use a higher resistor to adjust the brigtness, it´s too much to a bicycle, other can think it´s a car or a motorcycle going on the bicycle path.
Cons: none I can think. Maybe the color that isn´t pure red, but as I´m using the led inside a taillight with red lens, it´s not a issue.
Other: good gadget.

Pros: Very bright, it shines at low currents, too. It comes on a convenient star metal core pcb, easily soldered. It came in a tiny anti-static wrap for protection.
Cons: The dome was too big to fit into the hole of the lens I chose, so I had to do some file work.
Other: Good quality item, as far as I can tell. Recommended to anyone who needs such a thing.
